MrC Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 On both the Fox footy channel and its UHD equivalent (using the Fox roof mounted dish), the picture is no doubt sharp for close ups BUT when the camera pulls back and follows the ball, the motion is NOT smooth. I have observed this on my TV and on my projector. The same occurred last week. It is as if the frame rate is too low and it makes the motion very juddery ... almost unwatchable when the ball moves quickly. This has never happened before ... currently it is Essendon v Hawthorn. Anyone else noticing the same. Motion for sport on other channels is fine. It is just the Fox footy channel where I see this issue.
MrC Posted March 16, 2024 Author Posted March 16, 2024 I have contacted FoxTel support and a case has been lodged and I have been told that support will contact me within 2 days. I have also noticed that the use of their cameras is very different this year. The camera is pulled back more of the time so they are showing you more of the football field. I suspect something is up ... using the Fox Footy app via the internet on my living room 4K TV ... there is no problem. It appears that the live Fox Footy satellite broadcast that exhibits the lack of smooth motion. Again I stress that motion on the other Fox Sport channels is fine ... it is just Fox Footy that has the problem.
MrC Posted March 16, 2024 Author Posted March 16, 2024 UPDATE: Foxtel support have updated the software on my IQ4 box and now it appears that the problem is resolved. The motion is now smoother.
