Rear Firing Bass Speaker

Being that bass in omnidirectional below about 80Hz would it matter if I had the < 80Hz bass pointing towards the rear?

Pointing towards the rear should not have any undesired effect or be much different to it pointing forward.

It is the distance from the rear wall, and even more so a corner that makes a difference - the closer, the more amplified some frequencies will be.
