Analogueage Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 I'm starting to enjoy headphones more and more especially following the reviews and opinions expressed on this sub forum. I'm currently trying the latest Dan Clark closed back headphones which seem to come with a reasonable quality cable. However, I would appreciate the collective wisdom on upgrading/changing cables and would by extension appreciate thoughts on brands etc. For my part I believe in high quality cables across the audio chain. Thanks in advance for any guidance and suggestions. Rob
075Congo Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 Looking at Dan Clark Audio Headphones...the closed back model retails around the $1600 mark. Like most other headphone brands they offer an upgrade cable for $495. Be easy enough to go to a DCA Dealer and audition the upgrade cable and make a decision. Too easy! Where the story comes unstuck is when you research "other" upgrade cables........how do you decide on these options........lots of luck finding them on the ground. Like you I am a firm believer in cabling.......I'm in the process of selecting an expensive interconnect.......reading/believing reviews......well eventually I'll control the nightmare by taking the advice of an Audio Dealer I trust. But thats just me. 1
Nickelle Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 (edited) As an alternative I have been very impressed with the Linsoul Tripowin cables especial the soft cloth covered style, one of my bugbears is a cable that is noisy moving around, soft covered cables for me are great. Just my 10 cents. Granvia is the model I bought. Edited February 25, 2024 by Nickelle 1 1
