this bass player is setting the world ablaze

@colinm1 😁

You beat me by 2 days.   I was just about to start a thread on Mohini.   I have been following her progress for the past 5 years.    I just posted a video of her on Youtube Spinning, being interviewed by Rick Beato.  It is truly brilliant.   She is an absolute Gem.

Her playing is breath taking.  I got her new self titled CD from Bandcamp after giving it a listen on Tidal and it mesmerising.  A literal who's who of other muso's on the album.

For those that didn't know the sax player is her husband.

And then there is Juna.    I am in Tokyo for a week from mid April so fingers cross I can jag one of her shows.  I think she plays in about 3 different bands.

I got excited when I saw this but unfortunately Juna is not playing on this tour.

Cazzesman i too saw ricks interview

ive been watching rick for a fair while

what struck me

she has caught the styles of some of the best ,wooton, amongst others ,

to a tee !

i assume her reading skills are also unbelievable ,

anthony jackson and carol kaye being the benchmark for me in this area,

saw a vid of her playing a 6 string frettless the other day , SHE IS VERY GOOD !

i feel her best work is yet to come (if that's possible )

first thing i thought of when i saw the ricks video was

John McLaughlin

opened the door for  indian musicians  and look who is standing in the doorway !

shakti !

very rare do i get excited in discovering a new musician to listen to,

my hands are shaking and the hair on the back of my neck is standing up

I find it hard to get excited about a bassist unless they have a whammy bar.  Les Claypool set the bar too high...

Only joking of course, she's awesome.  I love watching  a bassist get in the groove.
