For sale 2 X NEC A-10X Top line amps ,a Japanese Nissyo 1600 watts 240v-100v step down transformer, a pair of Accuphase XLR 1.5m cables in length (the amps can be placed closer to speakers if required) and a copy of the rare user manual. No wonder these amps are quite rare here in Australia as it is quite difficult importing them from Japan due to weight (over 60kg in total). They were serviced a while ago with all the controls cleaned.

I'm selling them as a pair for someone to use them in BTL (bridged) mode one xlr input to take full advantage of the huge power reserve. The manual shows the possibility to connect the amps in BTL mode with RCA cables too. I used them connected to a DAC/Streamer through XLR connectors in BTL mode.

These amps will drive any speakers!!!

While they can be used as "integrated" I think their main purpose is to work as power amps as there is no preamp ,the volume can be limited through a front control and the design is in such a way that the signal travels the shortest distance. Individual gain settings for the main inputs.

These were the the final model of the A-10 series. After that a in-house venture company called "Authentic'' took over the series and sold the new amp with a few modifications for 4,500,000 yen.

The power supply section was equipped with the A-10's traditional "reserve power supply". In addition to the normal power supply unit (conventional power supply),it has another power supply unit (reserve power supply), and itsupplies direct current. This was an attempt to dramatically increase the capacity and bring it closer to the ideal battery power source.
The integrated amplifier is equipped with a total of eight low-impedance, high-speed custom capacitors: 15,000 μF x 4 for conventional power supply and 15,000 μF x 4 for reserve power supply as smoothing capacitors, and has a total capacity of 120,000 μF.

Starting with the transformer, the equipment is completely twin monaural with two large-capacity, heavy-duty transformers on the left and right sides and was enclosed in a copper-plated case, making it non-magnetic and suppressing vibration. A variable resistor close to the input terminal on the back board from the shaft directly connected to the front panel to avoid long volume wiring. Normally, a protective relay is connected in series with the speaker output, so some people are concerned about the negative effect it has on the sound quality, but this device uses a DC servo to eliminate this problem.
The power cable was pulled out from under the power transformer at the bottom of the amp. The legs are installed at three points and made of sintered metal weighing 600 grams each and by flipping them upside down it was possible to switch between flat grounding and single point grounding. 3.2mm thick copper-plated steel plate was used for the bottom plate supporting the chassis to suppress vibration and magnetic distortion. No wonder that one amp weighs 31kg!!!
