Caravanfan
Hi i I have just bought some dynaudio audience 42s which i love. Running with naim nait 5i, mojo dac, and a manticore mantra TT. I love the speakers. One of the tweeters is dented and despite my efforts I can’t get the dents out. TBH I don’t think it affects sound but aesthetically my eye keeps getting drawn to it My tweeters are D28/2 (81468). I’ve seen a spare on eBay which is a D28/2 (81461) and I’m trying to find if I can use that or whether it would be a bad idea. Just wondering if they are a compatible swap or not. thanks
Al.M
Probably Ok might be a batch serial number difference only. If the same you should be able swap the diaphragm over between units. See online DIY tutorial how to do this and issues surrounding this. Also, if you remove the dented diaphragm to get access from behind to push it out and/or apply gentle hair dryer heat to it while pushed out.
