The Brodmann speakers were outstanding. They were a very good match for the Electrcompaniet amps. They together with the Estellons were the speakers of the show.

Brodmann were demo'd with the Elektra HD300 power amp with a Storm Audio A/V processor acting as linestage fyi. EC were demo'd with Chario speakers in the Tivoli Audio room.

Poor choice of cover image 🙂 He looked much better throughout the show!

It is a long three days for the poor exhibitors though!

Hi all. Was a bit time pressured this time, but loved the show once again this year.

Highlights for me were:

Hulgich Dukes - really well-balanced, detailed but warm sound plus a great soundstage. Amazing in that room!

Hey now- loved the vinyl setup, such high quality analog sound just can't be beaten..

Brodmann - just gorgeous, lovely musical sound. Was tempted by these speakers a couple of years back, but went with TAD instead..

Agree with some comments about talking during the demos being a bit frustrating, but also love that people are excited to talk about their setups..

Also loved the diverse, high quality tunes being played around the traps. Shazam is definitely your friend on days like this..

Keep up the good work! (And send the AV guys to the moon.. 🌙)

It was really only the position of the Ascendo room, mostly for 50" reasons. 🤣

The AV setups have gotten bigger and more powerful over the years, and it's clear now they need to be further isolated from the rest of the setups, which has been noted and will be addressed at potential future shows.

To say that half the 1st floor was shaking is no exageration!

The long weekend of sonic and visual excitement saw the crowds ebbing and flowing between rooms, eagerly assessing how what they saw and heard would work in their own homes....

By chance did anyone wander about with the Shazam app and grab as much demo content as possible? I did that in the Aus show in Sydney back in April and got some great new content (Qobuz link, hopefully it works). The "Meute - You and Me" track wasn't available in Qobuz when I made the list so I added a live version I found.

Yes I used this quite a few times to pickup up a few tunes I liked.  Great app

Nearly a month later and with the use of hindsight and actual XP I reckon this year's show was the best one yet.

Heaps of new exhibitors and some old faces who just consistently exhibit great displays in the limited space restrictions they have available.

As for members, well some old faces were there and quite a few old faces who didn't turn up, but the quiet GTG's(or quietly announced might be more exact) that were happening while the show was on were just great. I flew down to Bleak City just to attend the three I knew about and the food and systems were very good but it's more about the socialising for me and that's always been a part of SNA.

It might not be as prolific as it was when SNA was a smaller community but it is still a community albeit a bigger one and more diverse these days.

Looking forward (already) to next year's show but it's so far away now that I'll have to trundle back down to Bleak City before then and catch up with everyone there before this time next year. Melb GTG's are always pretty damn good(you know who you are👍🍷)

WD Marc or WD @administrator (weird nick you've got there bud)
