Phew, I know that problem it's why I couldn't come last year but I've booked the flights and while I'm sadly not staying at the Pullman(Like you Linz, can't afford the cost of 4 nights acc) my daughter rather naively has said I can stay in her flat while she's OS and it coincides with the Show dates😎 and it's not that far from @joz 's place either. Wonder if them monsters he calls speakers are still going strong.

Still not good enough.

Had a (lost count) 46th or something this Sept and it passed with nary a mention.

*Actually, just realised I'll be back from Bleak City and the Show and...it'll be that bloody wedding anni stuff! Who pays attention after near half a century?

** I do and instantly if she mentions it, if not...well there's always next year isn't there😘

***There's when we first met anni's and then's there the wedding anni's, they are very different apparently.

So, can I book 3 days worth of concession passes, or do I have to do so in person Friday morning?

Either should be OK!

@StereoNET  As it turns out I have my kids during this show, they're 7.  I've been to heaps of these shows so I know what to expect, it doesn't get too loud usually save for one or two rooms.  They may even enjoy the headphone set-ups.  I either attend with them, or I miss out, so I'm keen to drag them along.

At their age, are they allowed?  I understand if not.  🙂  If they are, which ticket is applicable to them?

Children under 18 years receive free entry, but must be accompanied by an adult, from what I read in FAQ..

Who's coming? Well it's a good job the ticket sales don't reflect the number of responses to your question in this thread @Luc 👍

I'll be there  🙂

One of my fav weekends of the year to be honest.

I have usually come along on the Saturday, made a full day of it.

I play cricket on Saturday and last year with the date change I could not make the Saturday so attended on the Sunday. It was a different experience, seemed less busy and the vendors all seemed a little more relaxed than on a Saturday.  Wasn't as long of a day, not sure if I prefer all the fuss and excitement of Saturday to the still busy but less frantic feel of the Sunday.

This year I have dilemma, Cricket starting on the Saturday, Bathurst on the Sunday. I have never been on the Friday but have read/heard that some rooms etc are still being set up on the Friday, not sure if this is true or just a random room here and there.

Decisions to make, skip round 1 of cricket and attend the surety of Saturday or roll the dice and try a Friday. Sunday definitely out this year as I have family attending my house.

I'll be there.  Got my ticket back in July.

Looking forward to the show and catching up with everyone.

Keeping an eye on the gig guides now to see if I can catch some live music as well while I'm in town.

I've been on every day, and Friday is well worth it, not a gamble at all.  In fact it's my go to day if I can only do one for the whole weekend.

I've never found any room that isn't set-up, but I know a few will tweak for the following day and better reports come in.  Honestly, I'm never offended by what I hear at these shows, they're not a critical listening environment anyway.  I've always found the Friday to be the least busiest, which is nice to be able to pick and choose your rooms and stay there as long as you want.  It's still well attended, but no hustle and bustle of Saturday.

Plus if you're in to vinyl you feel you get dibs on what's there at the fair.

Cheers for the information, great to know that Friday is a good day to attend. I might just do that, keep the Cricket club happy and still see Bathurst on the Sunday! I too am not offended by what I have heard through the years. Have never gone there for a personal audition as such, I'd just read that some rooms were not quite set up and ready on a Friday, but my memory isn't perfect so this could have been pre covid and not relevant to more recent shows.

Yeah, would have got a ticket for that, but planning to be at the hifi show till stumps on Saturday.

Seaworks is a good location too.  I make the trip over there for the Jamaican Music & Food Festival every year.

Plenty of options on a Saturday night in Melbourne.

Friday is the cruisey day. Get there before opening, grab a coffee at the Hotel foyer coffee stand (very good by Melb standards) and sit down and you'll be surprised as the members you know, roll in and and you give em heaps.

Grazing on a good paddock I see, same t shirt as last year, have you washed it? So the lifestyle change wasn't agreeable I see, never mind...your shout, make mine a double.  All that kinda banter, it's great.

The people running the rooms are always pleasant but also a bit worried (slightly) about how it's going and I've always found them approachable. DSOTM wafting out from the speakers? Get it off and put some proper testing music on ffs. Diana Krall...no, full stop no.

Lots of fun to be had.

* Oh...and watch that @Kaynin fella. Last couple of shows he's been in the line up to enter, he's pushy, don't look away coz he'll be in like Flynn with a grin.😎

** And @Bass13 is one of the nicest blokes you'll meet at the show and on SNA and if you ask him nicely he'll share his wife's pasta and sauces recipes she's very kind that way(thx Sam! From a couple of years ago👌)

The only reason I come down to the show is to put faces to 'nicks' and to catch up with all the friends(and the odd enemy it must be said) I've made over the years. It's a great community🫴 and of course there's all the unobtania on display that you never see all in one place.

Yeah, I never thought you'd fall for the old tap on the left shoulder and pass on the right number, but there you go - got you hook, line and sinker.  🤓

In the interests of diversity and not wishing to prejudge any type of speaker setup, does anyone know if there will be a demonstration of OPEN BAFFLE speakers at the show ?

There were atleast a couple of open baffle speakers at the last SNA show, but Marc or another organiser should be able to confirm that. Also fyi, the full show guide is now published on the SNA Show page (though I haven't had time to look at it yet).

Thanks for your reply. I have had a look at the program but unable to see a direct reference to OB’s. I plan to attend anyway.

OAD Gem Dipole speakers are listed on their website.

Jon had two excellent open baffle speakers last year,  that everyone raved about including myself! 🙂

I remember that room. They were/are very engaging and enjoyable speakers 🎶
