Sounding
Never been to a Hifi show. I am in Tasmania. I have just learned of a hifi show in Sydney on 5th to 7th April. Flights are cheap enough. How would this Sydney show compare to the SNA show? Like, if I were to pick just one to go to? Or should I go to both?
Kaynin
If you've never been then definitely go, the admission price is cheap considering the gear you'll get to see and experience. Personally I'd go to the Sydney one, and if you like it then go to the Melbourne one.
ozwine007
I have booked my tickets and coming in from Perth, WA. Looking forward to a fantastic time in Melbourne. 1
David A
Nice offer from SNA. The last show was very enjoyable, and i'm sure Marc and the team will be working hard to make this year's show even better
Pegasus
Marc, why is there no 3 day pass for concession holders ? Us old farts need all the help we can get to afford our audio addiction.
Pegasus
Has the EARLYBIRD discount expired? I thought it was current to the end of July (today).

To be honest, it's due to a limitation of the booking software! Sorry. 1 hour ago, Pegasus said: Has the EARLYBIRD discount expired? I thought it was current to the end of July (today). "Early Bird" finished a long time ago. We're now only 10 weeks out from the show. That discount was posted back in January.

Lazz
Trying to book at the hotel for accomodation using the link provided, but no go. But on other external sites it's available/possible. Any clue as to why this is?
Luc
Not long now is it, 3 days of merriment and ogling at Unobtania unless of course you're a member of the 'Obtania Club'(you lot know who you are). Is there an official dinner? No idea. Will @StereoNET <<<<( That's the Boss's new nick I think ) be supplying those free drinks vouchers again(hic) hopefully! Is there IPA on tap or in bottle at the bar? No. Which means I'll be heading out into Bleak City in search of them...how hard can it be? GTG's Who having some? C'mon, it's the show, open up the house to members you've never met or maybe you have, showcase that system and at the very least have some cold IPA on hand and maybe some duck salami(always an icebreaker), invite a Mod or or two so we can really get in their ear and try to get them to see your POV when we called that amp cra.p. and the speakers bird boxes. Pullman Bar&Lounge is comfy and the rather tame beer is served all hours(kinda) it's also I'm reliably informed a complete Pink Floyd free zone! Woo Hoo! I'll be asking for Mrs Mills of course, just to get the party going and also fencing off a small area where dudes in black t shirts tucked into gutbusting jeans can meet and mingle amongst their kindred spirits who've missed the last 30 years of fashion sense(Go on..bite me. I will of course be wearing a black t shirt but mine will be better than yours) We'll all put faces to nicks for the first time. Oh! You're that guy! Oh! you're that nutter into Sansui's. Ah ha! You're that bloke into Street lamps branded as MBL's. Why on earth did you sell those speakers you numpty? Buyers regret is it? Don't cry! I'm sorry, I feel your pain but they're in their happy place at my place. So yeah..IT'S SHOWTIME! 7
Administrator StereoNET Posted September 9 Author Administrator Share Posted September 9 I can confirm that a number of people are responsible for the @StereoNET account/username now, but we cannot confirm or deny the presence of drink vouchers being passed around. Cut backs, and all that! While there is a solid lineup of exhibitors and brands this year once again, participation has not been an easy choice and committment/investment for everyone, given the state of the current market and economy. It's being felt at all levels and across many industries. Of course, we can't wait for the show once again.
LoveKnight
I attended last year on Saturday I think. This year hopefully I could hear more audiophile gears than last year. I like the headphone sections but look like because of the electrical treatment of the hotel or the audio system did not have enough time to burn in enough so many rooms had awful listening experiences. Some audio systems could not express the soundstage of the music which should be a must have thing in high end audio systems. Some audio systems were really good. Hopefully some sale off programs or new products in this show. See you guys on the show. Edited September 9 by LoveKnight

BugPowderDust
That's a fine looking list of exhibitors and brands for this year's event. I shall be there at some stage, attempting to shake off jetlag

You'd not know the sublime taste of a duck salami & emmental sourdough sanga(toasted or fresh) but when I'm down I'll get one for you minus the salami as I know yer not omnivorous, I'll replace it with bung beans or an Avo that's ready for smashing. Soooo...are we all excited about the show or what? The Front lounge of the Pullman and the Bar are the social hub and for early risers they do a great coffee there as well and for early drinkers(I'm not one as I rarely start before 10) the bar should be open at...yup, 10. Oh, and there's a free non alcoholic drink at the bar for the first person who identifies the first playing of Diana Krall by an exhibitor (no naming or shaming publicly of course)The drink matching the artist And then there's the black t shirt contest and plain black wont cut it this year or your Metallica one and no, Led Zep runes will see you frogmarched out the door and a taxi fare to take you to the nearest black t shirt shop you wally. * the excitement mounts.

Luc
This is when the SNA family gets together and kicks it's collective heels(high heels for some members)up. I'm sure they're just shy and a lot of newbies are like @sir sanders zingmore and a bit confused. Nevermind, just post away here and tell us you're coming or not and what you want to see at the show. OB's are what I'd love to see and hear. @StereoNET(whoever you are) should know if any are exhibiting this year.
