Cartridge upgrade/purchase advice

Hi all, I'm looking to get a new cartridge, I don't have a huge amount of experience with upgrades in this department though, anyone got any advice/tips?

 

I have a Kenwood KD-R305 (AKA KD-2055) which currently has an AT-3600 as a placeholder. My current system skews to being slightly forward/fatiguing so looking for a cartridge with a bit more of a relaxed sound.

 

Would be run through a Project Tube Box DS, I'm very open to second hand options as well as new, probably looking to spend up to $250

l have an AT-VM95SH (shibata stylus) which l no longer require,

it has about 50 hours on it. l will list it in the Stereonet classifieds

if you're interested, price will be well below your budget.
