It's a Disney title and they're not releasing any more physical media in Australia. 😞

Yep, I might import via Rarewaves - they look to be the "cheapest".

Thanks for the heads up. Will keep an eye on stock/pricing at Rarewaves 👍

I'll be grabbing it from OS, probably when the last Indiana Jones and the 4K James Cameron movies get released. ImportCDs if they have it, otherwise, from wherever. If you buy a few discs, then the postage seems cheaper! I got Red, Unforgiven and the first Raul Julia Addams Family that way, as they weren't being released in Aus. Only issue is that any Bluray discs that come with them are not usable on my player(s).

Thanks BB. But I probably won't bother.

I don't really want to fiddle with the Panasonic 4K player, which I'm quite happy with. And the Sony unit I use to play CDs and DVD's works fine for any non-region-3 DVD's (mainly French and Japanese). And all the other Samsung BD players we have around the house won't be used to play the the extras discs on the one or two US discs.

When DVD's first came out, I simply bought everyone the cheap Chinese player that JB were selling. $40 and they played everything. And considering the TV's of the time (except my Sony monitor) didn't have super resolution, it didn't matter much.

one other thing to to consider is if have a pana 4k you can also have the region selection bit added to it ...

David Gatti does this and is melbourne based near the glen.

drop off pick up same day few hours later as long as give him time to order in the bit. its not cheap with the panasonics but another way to do this... keep in mind we are starting to get some region locked 4k discs as well, not many at all, but the player then does handle these...well has for me so far 🙂

another one if dont want to bother with understand but there is a way with 4k players too  ...

If this starts to happen, then I'll be checking in with David, possibly with the final player (the metal faced Panansonic, or an Oppo). But I haven't seen one of these as yet and AFAIK there hasn't been an update to the 2015 specifications - which didn't include region encoding.

its always been optional thankfully in the spec... and all the more relevant to us who for instance with disney releases now will become reliant on overseas. there have certainly been discs with region coding. been atleast 3 i have come across in outpost, fall and greenland.

I have both the "metal front" pana in the ub9000 and also an oppo but thats mostly relegated to music duties...does now and then stand in for blu-ray / 4k replay 🙂 can't buy the oppo anymore ...

the pana can be bought pre chipped from david or you can also buy one yourself and just take to him, which is what i did 🙂

anyways dont worry if not an issue at this stage, but there are certainly solutions if becomes an issue 🙂

@betty boop can definitely agree - I picked this up a few weeks ago (finally!) and it looks and sounds phenomenal.

Such a shame it didn't get a proper release in Australia. Ended up having to go via Amazon US.

Anyhow, very glad to have this on 4k UHD for the collection. Fantastic film and probably the best addition to the series since Predator 2, which is a guilty pleasure of mine and highly underrated imho.

I got so excited about this movie that I accidentally bought 2 copies...Going to have to remember how to use Ebay (or Gumtree) again!

Going to wait until I have a good couple of hours to sit back and enjoy, maybe on Tuesday when Mrs CE works late (she's not a Predator fan).

Put the extra copy on the forum classifieds. I knew nothing about this film until I read this topic, and now I am curious.

Finally got to watch this last night. Enjoyed the whole movie...except that some of the CGI creatures were still very recognisably CGI (wolf, bunny, bear). Not in all areas, just in movement. I'll be introducing it to Mrs CE at some point...
