Innomaker XLR DAC - will XLR convert to RCA?

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I recently purchased an Innomaker HiFi DAC https://www.inno-maker.com/product/hifi-dac-pro/ and didn't realise the output are XLR 3.5mm..

Unfortunately my amp only has RCA inputs! Is it possibile to plug 3.5-XLR -> XLR female-RCA for each channel? I understand one is balanced the other RCA unbalanced.

Cheers

Hi, no you can't use the dual balanced 3.5mm outputs

But there is already a 3rd 3.5mm output which is stereo unbalanced - and you can commonly find 3.5mm stereo to dual RCA cables.

Cheers, thanks for that.! The 3rd output is actually a headphone output, so it depend on the strength of the headphone amp! I rang Selby who said the XLR to RCA should works, I tried it an it didn't 😞 (got a refund though!)

Don't need strength if you're hooking up to an integrated amp.

Just a simple stereo 3.5mm to dual RCA will work fine.

Does your amp take XLR input?

Nope.. it's a 1st Gen PrimaLuna dialogue premium. All RCA analogue.

Can't understand why the shop would mention anything about XLR to RCA.

The DAC doesn't have XLR outputs and your amp doesn't have XLR inputs.

You can use a stereo 3.5mm to dual RCA , no worries.

I bought the DAC as it has a way better chip DAC ES9038Q2M and caps, than the RCA Inno-maker DAC  PCM5122, that has RCA outs. Alas I went out and bought the shitter one as well. The aim was to upgrade my IQAudio DAC+ Pro to a RiP4 based DAC system with a better sound profile.
