New Bentley has $50,000 sound system option

Recommended Posts

I could sort of see it in a chauffeur-driven vehicle where I could lie back, close my eyes, and pass away the trip in whatever way I wanted; but in a "sports coupe"—where driving is part of the entertainment?

Not today, thanks.

Back in the day for my first two cars ….the car audio cost more than the cars they were in :D

so as can imagine …. I can see no problem at all if the car audio these days costs less than the car it’s in 🤣

how much is the Bentley worth :D

Am sure it’s one awesome system 😻

Best OEM system I've ever heard was the Volvo XC90 with B&W upgrade. Found out a few years later it was the Guinea Pig for Dirac ART.

Golly, the audio costs more than my car. 🤔

Funnily enough, my HiFi components are Naim. Speakers are not Focal though. Bet my system sounds better out of the car than this one in the car.

Ironically, I feel the system in my car sounds considerably better than my house system. Despite the fact that the house system costs 5 times more.

( $2k vs $12k+)

Probably a lot also comes down to "room influences".

Are you sure it isn't, for want of a better term, the "car effect". I'm 100% positive my home system is way better than my car system (just whatever default came with the car), yet I do find when I'm driving, the sound is very enjoyable. I have no other explanation for this than the "car effect".

Higher quality and more expensive systems have the drawback that it's easier for something to hold back the sound quality, or if you're not in the mood for it, harder to appreciate the quality. There's something to be said for more modest, yet enjoyable systems.

Yup! My old 1976 Golf cost $2000. The sound system was more!

My car isn’t the quietest car on the road but I have a 3 way active audio system which also lets me enjoy music out and about.

It’s not wasted in a car environment.
