ENIGMA Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 I suspect the show gets better support / participation from vendors and industry in Melbourne, and that would be the deciding factor. Most I have spoken to also mentioned that Sydney "appeared" to have greater foot traffic, but that's difficult to really know without audited, published attendance figures (which I wouldn't expect). We will of course be there, but with a completely different approach this time, and a focus being on a social hub for our members to meet up at, chat and hang out at. We'll also propose a StereoNET dinner on the Thursday night or Saturday nights. You need an SNA lounge (coffee and some refreshments) with an SNA members system set up for everyone to hang crap on, I mean appreciate and enjoy a bit of music. Some touch screens(breakout areas) for members to post reflections/comments and new members to join and have a go introducing themselves. How about 'meet the mod' a bit of chance to get to know the people behind the scenes and opportunity to understand some of SNA policies. And, how about a silent auction in the classifieds - a prize can be donated and people bid with proceeds going to SNA. Lastly, door prize drawn post show - entrants are anyone who posted on SNA during the hours of the show in a show thread which can include any new members. 1

It is vitally important data for cost justification. Social HUB is a great idea but it needs to be in a public place so that non members have the opportunity to see the benefits that members get...sign non members up there & then (the cost of entry so to speak)...it will also be an excellent way to expand the membership base & in doing so increase the value of your web site...SNA Dinner is an excellent way to bring the "SNA Community" together in the one place at the one time & also the perfect opportunity for SNA Sponsers/Advertisers to network with members...Rob 2

Like the idea of a SNA dinner. 4
Sir Triode Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 (edited) How about a "pin a tail on a mod" booth or some similar attraction? Revenue to go to help support SNA. Like the idea of a SNA dinner. Might or might not work depending on the sizes of their derrière and whether they will be tethered down for the attraction. Use of air rifles might be a better idea than using a pin if they are moving targets. Edited December 8, 2013 by triode12 1

Super Mustud Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 /watching These things should always remain mysterious.
Luc Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Jakes used to helicopters, so let him hang a hundred metres below one and we'll use bespoke designed blow-guns with poison tipped LOMC's and aim when the pilot does the low sweeps over the Melb address with Jake trailing an enormous SNA flag from one foot advertising our presence at the do. It'd be fun wouldn't it, all the digital guys would be like: WTF? What's a lom-c, you put it on the end of your what? You want us to shoot it? Can't we stream it to Jake? And of course they'd wander off in different directions promising a solution to the streaming problems associated with a a guy hanging from a helicopter. Get a NAS attached to a WDLive running through a popcorn hour and multiple soundcards with a mobo to die for... Umm you put the sharp bit in this tube...aim...blow...simple.

Luc Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 300B or 211 tube. He he...I reckon you could load a 300B with multiple shot, all those stylus's adorning the old AWA or HMV 50's early 60's cabinets with a roll back top and a humongous chunk of Bakelite with a stylus that'd to a Japanese whaler proud. 1

joz Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Stereonet Lanyards with names would be great, like at the Tivoli night. 1
Kaynin Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Dates, opening times & pricing is now on their website - https://www.showclix.com/event/AustralianAudioAVShow14 About the same price as last year I think. No mention of exhibitors just yet that I could see, too soon no doubt.
