jackbauer95
Hello I bought the Panasonic DP-UB820 bluray player and I have a problem. I use the analog outputs with active speakers (because I already had active speakers, I don't want to buy passive speakers + an amplifier). All analog outputs work perfectly except the subwoofer output. When I go to options and go to "7.1 multichannel setting" I run the test and the player sends white noise to each output. However, it completely skips the sub output, ie it does not even send white noise to this output. So I have no sound coming out of the sub output. I tried with a Yamaha NS-SW050 and an eve audio TS108 which are amplified subwoofers that have an LFE input. The problem does not come from the subs because they work perfectly elsewhere. I used an RCA subwoofer cable. Thank you for your help
Lil Caesar
is there a software cross-over and/or speaker size setting in the player ? what about the settings on the back of the sub - need to make sure it's a - getting a signal b - that signal is not being filtered / muted, etc. There wouldn't be many players that support variable volume - I was not aware this is one of them - obviously there's a volume control on the remote ? There is no volume control on Pana BD Players! 42 minutes ago, jackbauer95 said: I use the analog outputs with active speakers (because I already had active speakers, I don't want to buy passive speakers + an amplifier). The Pana BD players were designed to go to an AVR, prepro or preamp which does the volume control. So, sorry you wasted your money... Suggest getting a used Oppo player.

Yes i can change speaker size but it doesnt change anything, the subwoofer is just skipped by the player I did a video to show you my problem : and volume control is not the problem because i can change it directly on my speakers Edited August 29 by jackbauer95

You are missing the point about volume control. Something needs to control all speakers and subwoofers.
