Chordette dac power supply

Recommended Posts

Hi, a question for electrical savvy members. You can see in the photo that the chordette has a switching power supply rated a 12V, 0.5 amps. The dac has no power switch so I turn it off from a power board that has individual switches. I’m moving to a rack mounted power supply that doesn’t have individual switches. My question is can I insert an inline rocker switch by cutting the dc line. Does it matter if the rocker switch is ac or dc as long as it is rated at greater than the 12v 0.5A or is too greater rating detrimental to the dc power supply transformer. Any down side to what I’m proposing. I’m sticking with the switching power supply so linear ps is out of the equation. Opinions please or alternatives. Thanks in advance.IMG_0737.thumb.jpeg.3d6beb6b7829618a9a88aaff7ed011bc.jpeg

I have my four QuadII power amps "behind" my speakers / other stuff and use remote controlled power points (1 for each power amp).   You can turn them on/off individually or turn all of them on/off.

You can get remote and one power point

or remote and 3 power points

Just a thank you. Bought the remote control mains power from jaycar today and it works like a charm. Bought the single but should have bought the 3 pack, I’m sure I’ll find other uses. Kind regards
