pplater
Doubtless this question has been asked a number of times - apologies in advance for asking it again. What, in the collective view of this august forum, is the best of all televisions available today? Not the stratospherically silly stuff but, within reason, the highest definition, blackest blacks, most pixels, most connective, future-proof, sensible size television for use with Qobuz, Tidal etc? Why? Thanks in anticipation! Cheers, pplater.

The as yet to be in the stores SONY A95L QD-OLED.....I had its predecessor [still current] A95K until the panel took a hit and died, best TV I've ever owned. Still only 2 X HDMI 2.1 inputs on the new model, and you have to assign which of those does Dolby Vision or 120HZ VRR, but other than that a great TV. It uses the GOOGLE TV software, which a absolute joy to use, and very easy to configure [just go to the Google store to add any App you want] It uses the exact same QD-OLED panel as used in Samsungs S90C and S95C [ the QD-OLED panel is made by Samsung] the difference is that neither of the Samsung TV's have heatsinks on the panel [needed for such a bright OLED IMHO] and the S95C uses a external Samsung box for inputs and outputs [which when tested showed it didn't do as advertised spec wise]...these external Samsung external boxes also have a long history of causing problems, if not failing totally. [Samsung have the dubious honor of being the most complained about consumer product manufacturer in 2023, with over 420+ complaints in NSW alone to the consumer watchdog in the first 6 months .......and people ask why I recommend avoiding Samsung ] Also be aware [warning] that Samsung is bringing out a 85" model TV it is naming S95, which I imagine is designed to trick people into thinking it has a QD-OLED panel like the S90C and S95C [max sizw is 77" for a QD-OLED TV ].......I doesn't, it will have a bog standard OLED panel [I imagine from LG] I doubt much improvement, if any will be made regarding TV panels over the next 2 years, the main differences will be to the processing chips and the 2.1 HDMI capabilities.
