John75
Hello everyone, can anyone tell me the difference between the Audiolab 8000T and the Audiolab TE tuners? I have an Audiolab 8000TE excess to needs and am trying to work out how to list it? Sorry if this the the wrong sub group to post to There doesnt seem to be a specific group (understandably) for Tuners many thanks John
John75
I was presuming the TE was a more cut down version with less circuitry and was considering listing it for around $200 if that sounds fair

Owners of both models generally appear to be very happy with the sound. Not surprising given the brand's reputation. I have the 8000T which cost me $270 second hand 5 years ago. It's getting pretty long in the tooth now, but has the extra features of Wide/Narrow IF, Hi-Blend and Fine tuning (25kHz steps). So it's better for people in tricky reception areas (like me) who need those features for acceptable reception when signal is weak or there are multipath issues. On the other hand, the 8000TE is a lot newer, more ergonomically designed, includes RDS and remote control, and most people would probably consider it to be more attractive. (Except when it's partnered with an 8000A of course!)
