Help me value this used set of Q acoustics & receiver?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

First post, so apologies if this is the wrong spot to ask this.

I'm new to Home Theatre, and based in Australia buying the following set of Q Acoustics speakers secondhand for AUD$800, just wanted to assure myself that I'm not overpaying.

2x Q Acoustics 2050i

Q Acoustics 2000c Centre

Q Acoustics 3070S Subwoofer

Onkyo NT-555 7.2 Receiver

No surrounds, but I'm currently living in a house with two suitable in-ceiling speakers, so the pack suits that well.

Additionally, all speakers are white, not sure how that would affect re-sale value down the line.

Is AUD$800 reasonable for all of this?

Thanks.

It's probably about right for them. As long as you can confirm that they all work (together) before you part with your hard-earned cash. I don't see why you couldn't pass them on for around the same amount later on.

They are not the be-all/end-all for HT, but they should allow you to listen to music and play movies with satisfaction. As long as you don't want wall-cracking bass, or to be able to distinguish what the individuals in the second violins are doing, you should be perfectly fine with this set-up.

Don't forget you'll need a screen/TV and a source (disk player and maybe a turntable). The HT amp won't be able to pass anything more that "Full HD" picture, so probably not worth going to 4K/UHD for your video stuff.

Seems fairly reasonable, maybe a smidge high if secondhand but the speakers are really nice for the money. I think you’ll be happy if you get them.

Thanks @Pops110 & @Cloth Ears!

I ended up picking up the set. Compared to the HTIB Sony setup I had prior the 2050i's are extraordinary

Your advice is greatly appreciated!

Congrats, Sounded like a pretty good deal to me. I'm just waiting on shipping of my second QA 2070Si sub, very happy with my first one, so thought I would add another.
