Aah, very noice @Sounding.

The spkr specs say their impedance doesn't drop below 4 ohms - and your MF amps are 700w into 8 ... and 1300w into 4 ohms.

I suggest that combination is very hard to beat!  :o  The only suggestions I can offer are:

  • simply because I know how it sounds  - try and get hold of a Sanders Magtch ... or better still, a pair of the Magtech monoblocs
  • likewise, a pair of Hypex Ncore 2000 monoblocs
  • I'm not sure any of the fancy, much higher-priced amps from the Scandinavian countries - or US behemoths like the Boulder 3050s ... or the d'Agostino 'Relentless' Epic 800 monoblocs - are going to do a better job than your MFs!  They will certainly cost a lot more though.  :classic_laugh:

Just guessing you be suscriber to HFN.

What do your letters (dull though I'm sure they are) to a Hifi Magazine have to do with anything?

I agree your post is far more informative and unnecessarily rude, but you are only 13/16.

You are quite right Richard, I was unnecessarily rude, for which I apologise.

I saw THIS post from you earlier in the thread where you said 'There is a theme to these posts where unable to achieve suitable Analog sound people have resorted to embracing Digital and a handful of speakers as a way out. Puritisim R.I.P'  and I made a judgement on the likely suvivorship bias vibe of your letters to the editor.

All of the Amplifiers you mentioned were recently reviewed like in the last 4 issues HFN.
