Zaphod Beeblebrox Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Anyone else hooked? Even SWMBO enjoys Grimm. American Horror, not so much. I like 'em both a great deal.
Guest JohnA Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 i can handle grimm, trouble is i have already watched all the current season before it even aired, so now waiting for next season. No doubt will have to watch them again before then to make sure i remember where it left off
blackangus Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Don't know Grimm, however both myself and the Minister for Defence and Finance love American horror story. First two seasons awesome, this one great so far

Depends. They are completely different shows. American Horror is, well, gruesome and very, very dark. If the other two series are a guide, there will be no happy ending to American Horror. It will be unrelentingly bad news for everyone. Grimm, OTOH, has a rather upbeat feel to it. The show points to a happy ending for the good guys at some point. Whilst both shows are rooted in fantasy, Grimm has a sense of fun about it. There's no humour in American Horror. I like them both for completely different reasons. SWMBO likes Monroe (in Grimm). A vegetarian wolf creature whose name means 'blood bath' in German and has a girlfriend who is a mouse creature. Gotta love that. Quote from last week: "How do we remove his eye?" (Whilst the creature is still alive, of course) "With a spoon." Love it.

Itsmoi Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 If you like Grimm then you may enjoy Sleepy Hollow too. Haven't started watching 3rd season of American Horror yet, but i liked season 1 and 2.

Some of the same actors appear in each story-line. Jessica Lang and Frances Conroy, for instance.

DoggieHowser Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 We've been following Supernatural since it started. The writers/cast have a good chemistry going and I really like that they take the mickey out of themselves and of showbiz in general. GRIMM started off a bit like Supernatural with a big bad of the week to be defeated but it too developed a season long arc. I always liked the fairy tale gone wrong stories but with the fairy tales exhausted, some of the new monsters are getting a bit far fetched. Sleepy Hollow is also well worth following IMHO
Zaphod Beeblebrox Posted May 28, 2016 Author Posted May 28, 2016 Well, I just finished watching Season 5 Ep 23 of Grimm. As usual, it was a cracker (a two parter, actually). Season 6 will prove to be VERY interesting, as the Juliette/Eve - Adalind dynamic and Nick - Renard dynamic just got a LOT more complicated. And what can be done with Diana? Yikes! One scary chick. Now I have to wait for Season 6 to start. Bummer.
