My other half has a hair straightener that works fine in Melbourne.

We went to warrnambool and lorne some time ago and it failed to work.

Bring it home and it goes.

Please explain.

She has had many GHD's, never again.

This one is a cheaper one called silver bullet with universal voltage.

I've noticed some appliances won't work when plugged into the Shaver outlets that you come across in some hotels. I think they're current limited.  Was she trying to use it plugged into one of those?

Both places you mentioned is close to the sea.

IME hair curls more on the beach or close to than inland.

You should probably blame Labor, everyone else around here seems to do so.

It's amazing how they have single handedly destroyed civilisation as we understand it.

Lucky I voted LNP, so it's not my fault.

When you say it failed to work? Did you mean it heated up as it should and did not straighten the hair? Or did it not heat up at all?

The electricity quality is much better in Melbourne.

You should get a power conditioner from PS audio and one of their power cables, or a similar quality brand. It will then work.

It won't happen overnight but it will happen. I guarantee it.

Hmmm,  Veddy interesting. It sounds like an enigma wrapped inside a riddle that is at the centre of a conundrum.
