VAF Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Hi all, Our little Signature i90 seem to have been a big hit at the Australian Audio & AV Show in Melbourne. Thanks for all the feedback and the positive posts in that thread. Those who experienced them already know how good they are, however we are getting lots of enquiries about from people who haven't heard them yet but have heard the 'buzz' about them. Their regular price is $999each in black or white. On orders taken from the 3 days between right now up to and including this Friday 8 Nov I'll do them for $699each. So why am I doing this? Well, firstly because it's my company and I can. Secondly it would be good if a few more owners could help those who haven't heard them yet do so. Pictures & data sheets attached. Taking orders on Signature i90 for $699 each for 3 days. Go. FreeCall 1800 818 882 or email vaf@vaf.com.au Philip EMAIL - Signature i90 & i49.pdf EMAIL - Signature i90 Preliminary Information.pdf 6
evil c Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 These sounded amazing at the hi fi show - guys behind me queried whether they were really the ones producing such a large ,deep & clear soundstage and not the bigger speakers next to them! (we felt the same) At that price they're a steal!

Gee Emm Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 I was also impressed with the soundstage these speakers created at the show. Graham
peacewise Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 My i90's dramatically improved my office PC sound over Skype or starcraft 2. Seriously a brilliant little speaker. Stick an amp in them and akitimate couldn't sell another powered PC speaker.
Phantom Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 May I ask what the sensitivity is on these and amplifier power recommendations? 1
frankn Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Couldn't grab less, but here is the VAF info for the speaker VAF Signature i90 details Details At VAF we pride ourselves in helping each owner achieve the best sound quality from our speakers that is possible in their specific rooms and with their equipment. For Surround Sound Used as a group of five or seven in a surround sound system the performance is truly breath- taking - True high end sound in a package that can fit into any room. Benje Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) I think the i91 has slightly louder output than the i90, but both are reasonably sensitive. If you combine an i90 with a pair of i91's (eg as a centre speaker to a stereo pair of i91's) then you might need to be able to boost the volume on the i90 by perhaps 1 or 2 db. I also think that they are typical 8 ohm speakers - nothing complex or difficult to drive here. Personally, I expect that the answers to phantom's question will be of the second order - they are not a serious issue in my experience. edit - Hah. Showing my ignorance here. FrankN's grab says they are 6 ohms, and I said 8! DOH. Edited November 7, 2013 by Benje
Guest Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 This is a damn good deal. I think I will order a pair soon myself for a second living area, after hearing them at the show. There were a handful of things that impressed me at the show, and these were certainly one of them. I'm sure Philip recalls my reaction to them.

It is always great to see people react in amazement to our Signature i90 1
brumby Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 May I ask what the sensitivity is on these and amplifier power recommendations? What he said.
Jone5y Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 The website says they are 6 ohm speakers, not sure of sensitivity
danter Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Looking for small form factor speakers for a mates HT. He has a Paradigm DSP-3100 sub and Yammy RX-V1067 already (selling off the large Yammy speakers). How do you think these would go as fronts (and potentially a centre too)?
Stokesy Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 I made a friend of mine listen to them at the show........ she ordered a set today! They really are an amazing little speaker!
Phantom Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 (edited) I imagine that these speakers would be an amazing full range system with a platform sub in a minimalist stereo set up. You could even use the platform sub for your amp and source components to be paced on, thereby avoiding the need for a stand in a simple system. Edited November 8, 2013 by Phantom
Sub Sonic Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Just set up my i90s on my desk at work today with my Quasimodo amp and was reminded just how good they are. I used to use them in the lounge but a mistrust of small fingers got the better of me and I put them away for a time. They really do have 3D sound staging, coherence and scale, when set up correctly. Cheers! SS
Capone Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Cant wait to receive mine, i,ll be using them as surrounds and as a centre As my room is quite small these speakers were the perfect choice for me
Grumpy Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Cant wait to receive mine, i,ll be using them as surrounds and as a centre As my room is quite small these speakers were the perfect choice for me And with the VAF 1-91 fronts it should be a magical sounding set-up
Guest VladimirFreddie Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Cant wait to receive mine, i,ll be using them as surrounds and as a centre As my room is quite small these speakers were the perfect choice for me And listening to them this week I'm still not sure I've made a sane decision to sell them to you ;-) As Grumpy said it is a magical combo.
Max054 Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 These little gems are awesome its what grabbed my attention in the first instance and why I ordered the i66's - one day I will grab a pair for my home theatre system.. 1
Phantom Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I wish this deal was still going? It isn't. Perhaps your best chance is when the next audio show is on. AFAIK, VAF usually have some kinda show specials, but don't quote me on that. In any case, whenever they do have specials they pretty much always announce it on this board so just keep checking. 1
danter Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I wish this deal was still going? Never hurts to ask. Most retailers will work some sort of deal off RRP.
VAF Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 Absolutely! If there is something you've got your heart set on please let us know. If you're willing to be patient or flexible with finishes we can often pass on savings we get adding extra units onto a big run or we may have speakers left over from commercial jobs and that sort of thing. Johnny, I've sent you a personal message. 6
