Cafad Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Item: One Xindak A-08 Integrated Amp.Location: Bowen Nth QldPrice: $550 (including postage to the eastern states of Oz)Item Condition: Excellent, only 200 hours of use.Reason for selling: Too many amps, too little cash.Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD OnlyExtra Info: This is a 100wpc class D amp based on ICE modules, it also has that 'class D' sound that is slightly glarey and a bit 'digital' in nature. I would not recommend it for use with bright speakers, but on dark or warm speakers it is pretty good. A good combo with Usher S520s. Has a built in DAC based on the TDA1543 chip (it's not a great DAC but it is a reasonable one). The new RRP is $2300.Pictures:
New Sensations Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Usher s520 owners should run to this. Great price. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
a.dent Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 I have this amp running my Usher S520s in the bedroom system with a SBT. A great combination at a great price. The inbuilt DAC actually sounds as good as the SBT inbuilt DAC so it's not too bad AT ALL. GLWTS
Cafad Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 Thanks for the comments guys. The Xindak did rock with those S520s that I had (even though I didn't have them for very long). I should explain my description of the DAC section a little further. It beats hands down the standard 1 bit DACs of most DVD players and many set top boxes, you would get far better sound from your TV/movie set up (in two channel anyway) using the Xindak for the digital analogue conversion, where it fall down is in comparison to good audio DACs, ie Burson Conductor, Consonance cd120 and Myryad Z114 cd players, etc. I would probably rate the Xindak as just a bit behind the Perreaux Audiant 80i as far as DAC sections go. The amp sections of those two are, of course, completely different.
Damhooligan Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 That's a great looking amp with a reasonable price tag too. I did notice that the rca inputs are 'labelled' as coaxial. They are rca inputs, yes?
Cafad Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 So they are, I hadn't noticed. Yes, they are standard rca "analogue inputs". 1
Naim man Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Mmmmm........ very tempting, it looks like a Classe or a Plinius, can't fault the finish and hi end looks, Does it sound like any of the two mentioned? good luck with the sale, I'll probably regret not buying it. cheers, Enrico
Cafad Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 Well I've only heard one of the older Plinius power amps in a different room on different speakers... so all I can really say is that I don't think they sound anything alike, but I might be wrong. Have yet to hear a Classe so I can't comment there.
Phantom Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 A good buy here for someone who needs inexpensive muscle to move the music along. GLWS mate.
A J Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I'm picking this will probably not suit LS50's ??? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Cafad Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 (edited) That's hard to say. It would certainly have the power to get them up and singing, not sure how the top end would sound though. But it's a moot point, the Xindak has been sold just a couple of hours ago. I've got a Burson 160 pre/pwr combo that could do the job, if you're interested? Edited June 1, 2014 by Cafad
