peterears1 Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Hi. Just missed that mercury boxed set. If anyone else has cds gathering dust, especially good classical music recordings or world music, pls let me know. Less interested in opera. Thank you. P

hired goon Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Shows as not in stock and unable to ship outside the US (although, this is not usually an impediment) D'oh! Did not notice that. Still, I highly recommend the Rubinstein box. --Geoff
hired goon Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 There's also the RCA Living Stereo box: 60 CDs for $72: http://www.importcds.com/music/2512259/living-stereo-60-cd-collection-living-stereo-60-cd-collection I have about 20 of these on SACD ... tempted to get this box for the others. --Geoff
hired goon Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Actually I am very tempted by this set: Vivarte 60 CD collection: $72 VIVARTE is the legendary Sony Classical period music label known for producing outstanding recordings on period instruments. The recordings by legendary producer Wolf Erichson are made with the best recording technologies available and by one of the best production teams in the world (Tritonus Music Production, Stuttgart). ~ The collection contains a perfect overview of VIVARTE's legendary catalogue ranging from Vivaldi to Brahms at an attractive price. ~ Most of the recordings received critical acclaim all over the world. Many of them won prestigious awards and many are reference recordings http://www.importcds.com/music/2559816/vivarte-collection-vivarte-the-60-cd-collection --Geoff 1
RBez Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 And Yo-Yo Ma for $120....importcds.com; and John Eliot Gardiner's Bach Cantata project on Amazon.co.uk for around 120GBP (price seems to change daily)... Rob
Mollybendium Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Hi - I've got about 240 classical CDs - some opera (including probably about 20 CDs of Wagner!) but mostly not opera. Mostly good recordings and only listened to once or twice. All in jewel cases. PM me know if you're interested and I'll put together a list and think of a number - they're just sitting in boxes at the moment! Would only be as one lot - I don't want to pfaff around separating into small lots.
