It started with me posting a WTB thread for short speaker stands.   Old mate Linc suggested we should be able to knock something up and should give it a go on the weekend.  So after a few beers and a few hours,   tadaa!

Right tools for the job

some wood has been carefully cut.   40cm high and 3degrees tilt backwards was the thinking.

the pieces has been screwed together to form 1 stand.   I was impressed it didn't wobble.

tweeters at ear level now and speakers firing slightly upwards on an angle like how I've noticed many of the vintage big american bookshelves were setup.

In retrospect, I really should of measured the speaker base dimensions instead of guessing. Was around 2cm off the width. LOL

Thanks again Linc.   You champion!  :thumb:

Beer and cut-off saws.Always a good combination.

Could explain the over-width base too.

Nice job Tuyen,

With the increased width they're ready for a wider set of speakers when they come along.

My triton saw bench was damaged in a house move many years ago and I still miss it. Good to see yours is being put to use.

Na the measurements were wrong before we started either.

:P, for all seriousness the stands do match the speakers  :thumb:

Was 100% my bad on that one.  Came with no measurements and was too lazy to drive home or even call someone to check for me.

Now I must live with the consequences.

Your stands look good mate, I had speakers on stands with a toddler and I needed a heavy stand thankfully it has been a long time since I have had to build speaker stands but what I did was use 20mm mdf for top and bottom plates. Drill a whole in the middle and drill that whole with a spade or flat bottom drill to around 8 mm depth on both the top of the top plate and bottom of the bottom plate. Cut 75-100mm pvc to desired height minus top plate and 8mm threaded rod to suit.
Use 8 mm threaded rod nuts and washers to to finish flush on the bottom plate (inside the recessed hole) and slide 75-100mm pvc over the threaded rod.
Fill pvc with sand, place top plate on and use 8mm nut to bolt down and tie top and bottom plates together..
I have made a stand using 3 25mm pieces of PVC installing them in a V pattern, I have never used 2 pieces of PVC but I am sure you could do that.
