Benje Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 depending on your music preferences, you might enjoy these Pandora radio stations. Chic (disco) Jean Michel Jarre (electronic) Vangelis (different electronic) Jon and vangelis (vocal Vangelis) Stan Getz & Joao Gilberto (Brazilian Jazz) Deep House Soldiers Radio (for some doof doof for a workout) Claude Debussy (for just chillin to something quiet and classic) Quick Mix (for Pandora to keep switching between your station list). It is fabulous on an OPPO, even if the data is 'only' 192k Benje
pcking Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 Thanks for the heads up , I like " Chris Botti " also .
a.dent Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 I love Pandora and listen all day at work. Since watching "Searching for Sugarman" I have been listening to Rodriguez radio. It' a great way hear artists I had no idea even existed. For some reason I can't get it to work on my Oppo 103. Are there any tricks involved?

Benje Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 a dent I just followed the menu on the oppo. did what it asked, used the code shown on the oppo screen in establishing a pandora account on my pc and then the oppo was away. We also use pandora on our mobile phones - my wife loves it with headphones on a walk. Benje
a.dent Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Hi Benje The problem, I now know, is because I already had an account I tried to register using my existing username and password. Doesn't work. I had to tell the Oppo I did not have an account and then register the Oppo with Pandora before I could use my existing username and password. Works fine now. Cheers Andrew
Dolphy Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Using Pandora for free is a great, I listen to a lot of Spanish music that can't be bought here. As previously stated, Pandora works on mobile devices and it great as a travel companion, if you get bored of your stored music.
Nada Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 yes Ive taken to using Pandora as my car radio via my smartphone the byte rate is fine for casual listening on the move its like my own personal radio station if I dont like a track I push the thumbs down, the track stops playing and it and similar music never comes back When I like a track its thumbs up and a musical education unfolds for me revealing unknown artists when I try new genres. Free and fabulous so far with no adverts.
Super Mustud Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 At the urging (well, actually more like demanding) of The Goddess I tried out Pandora today for the first time and connected it to our Sony 55in TV. Yeah, I know, that might make me the last person in Australia to do this, but I was stubborn. Besides, The Goddess could have done it herself if she really wanted it. Or such was my reasoning. Set up 4 stations very quickly and I can see I will to have to take this far more seriously, most probably interface it to a couple of our audio systems. I like the way it will introduce me to new music aligned to my tastes. Perhaps one less dinosaur now in Australia. 1
wolster Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 I find Pandora is best used in association with Spotify. Find a great artist or track on Pandora, then switch to Spotify to listen to the whole album. 2
awty Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Hi can someone tell me if Pandora is worth subscribing to for better music quality? I like the format, but the audio quality is pretty ordinary.
Hitek Audio Video Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 It's worth subscribing to in order to get rid of those horrid ads! First there were no ads, then there were little ones. Nowadays you'll almost hear a full length movie trailer every two songs! For $6 or whatever it is a month, it's worth it I think. Personally, I use it to find new artists and then I buy their cds (remember those) or records (those too!). 1
Kaynin Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 If subscribing for a $6 fee personally I'd just pay 412 and get Spotify. That also has no ads, radio stations based on an artist, plus all the albums/songs you can handle as a download/streaming service. I pay for Spotify and just run the free versions of Pandora & TuneInradio. 1
awty Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Personally, I use it to find new artists and then I buy their cds (remember those) or records (those too!). Thanks I'm the same, but only records. I like the format, in that I can put in artists I like and it plays there songs and others similar. I get heaps of variety and plenty of stuff I haven't heard before......which I really like. It even manages to group a few songs in the seperate genres, which is good cause I like Every thing from classical to punk. I don't get adds on the PC cause I run add block, but on the phone its every 3 songs. So I might give it a go. Ta 1
awty Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 I sighed up for a month, the sound quality is great. Big step up from the ordinary Pandora. 1
