dlaloum
The article states that it is expected to sell for $4999... that is the same price as has been quoted for the Integra DRX 8.4 sibling... which does not seem right, Integra normally has additional features, designed for custom integration use - and in this case it has multiple sub outputs as well as XLR outputs and presumably other additional features in firmware. (as is the case for the other current DRX models) The RZ70 is also specced at 140W, where the pioneer and integra are specced at 150W. In the USA, these have been annouced at RZ70 = US$2800, LX805= US$3000, DRX 8.4 = US$3200... or a 14% difference between the Onkyo and the Integra... with the Pioneer straddling the middle. Also - has there been any word, on when stock will actually be available in Australia? US announcements said "Available in June" (some even said May/June) - but that isn't very meaningful for us here! Guest
My press release from Onkyo/PAC most certainly says $4,999 RRP. The same (Australian) release, as per my article, says stock will be available late May 2023, via "authorised Onkyo retailers". IME - PAC Australia has actually been getting stock of its brand's new releases nice and early and even earlier than US releases lately.
Tulsi Patel
The bigger question is will it have ART from Dirac
dlaloum
Yep... although $5k + circa another $1k for ART.... still it is likely to be the best value ART rig around... I hope.

Hi-Fi Whipped
These appear to be on special atm at $3749 from most retailers too, not sure what’s triggered such a big discount but would be hard to pass up if in the market. It’s Pioneer cousin also discounted.

There may be great deals for remaining Pioneer stock - but people probably should not rely on future upgrade options such as Firmware fixes, DLBC or ART. Or aggressive end-of-support strategies with spare parts etc, which can be frustrating for higher end units where repair cost could otherwise be justified.
