kffern Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Does anyone know of someone in Perth with a lathe and does small jobs? All i need is to get a 25mm rod turned down from a 25.4mm blank. Thanks, kffern
kffern Posted December 21, 2013 Author Posted December 21, 2013 No luck finding anyone to do a small lathe job in Perth but did find a ponytailed gentleman in Melbourne who has done a fantastic job. kffern
PonyTail Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Hi kffern, I was happy to help out. You should post a pic here of your turntable, it looks great.
kffern Posted December 22, 2013 Author Posted December 22, 2013 Will do. Just need to tidy up slightly. Till then check out the diyaudio analog source thread. Linear tonearm. Kffern
Upfront Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I've been watching that and didn't put two and two together. Thanks
kffern Posted December 24, 2013 Author Posted December 24, 2013 Haven't had any time to do much so heres the old pic. Its a work in progress so please excuse the wood dust. Going camping soon so won't do anything for a couple of weeks. Its definitely a worthwhile project. I have a Micro Seiki 505 and a Michell Technoarm and this is far better. Follow the diyaudio thread or feel free to ask me for advice. I have a bunch of spare 12mm glass tubes. It consists of 25mm clamps from CNC part sellers and for the time being a MDF board which has slots for adjusting the tube to the correct distance. The TT is a Lenco top plate and old kitchen benchtop material/plywood. Stacked platters. Currently running an unknown MM but I had an old AT F5 MC before. Kffern
