I know there are other members here that own these speakers and I would like to hear what you think and see what you guys own. I have the Thiel CS5's which I have owned for just over 3 years now and I really like what these speakers can do. From ballads to rock and just about everything in between, to put it simply, they shine. My amps are an ME 25/850 combo which certainly helps as these speakers need some serious current! So please folks, show me what you got! Here's some pics of my babies! 1

henry218 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 the phase angle looks exceptional, too bad they used such a low impedance woofer, but other than that its a well engineered speakers.

You are correct in saying, Jim Thiel.....big loss. But at least his speakers live on. darthlaker has smaller ones Yes, well my wife seems to think I am over compensating something because my speakers are sooo big!!! Only joking folks!! DoggieHowser Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 (edited) I run a 11.3 system with Thiel CS3.7s with twin SS2.2 subwoofers (S1 Integrator for stereo use), MCS1 for centre duties, and 4 pairs of PowerPoints for surround/surround back/wide/height duties. The last .1 is a JL Audio f113 for home theatre LFE. I used to own a pair of 2.4's, then a pair of 3.7's - both fantastic speakers. Had a MCS-1 center channel and a SS2 sub but still have my SCS3 rear speakers. sean Posted April 15, 2014 Author Posted April 15, 2014 Older Thiel CS5 Brazilian Rosewood. I believe mine are the earlier ones as well. I really like the finish on yours. Will have to get mine re-veneered one day.
