djb Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Been watching a few of your purchases here and assumed vintage system was your intention. This looks and I'm sure sounds very good
Guest Hensa Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 Whoever it was that was looking for a new turntable under $3k, your ship has come in - don't let it sail without you! Cracking turntable, Alistair and looks to be in superb condition. Were you able to give it a spin at all? GLWTS!
Volunteer sir sanders zingmore Posted October 28, 2013 Volunteer Posted October 28, 2013 I have the little brother of this (GT750)... Very tempting. Someone please buy it!
djb Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 No wantt more, you've been quite unkind to me recently I've changed my mind You sweat on it
Phantom Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 This looks fabulous Alistair. If I was ever tempted to explore the darkside,I would probably buy something just like this. I love the look of the big ,solid Japanese decks, but I don't even own one record ( although my father has heaps ) GLWS
arsenal Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 GT, "Gigantic and Tremendous", Sounds a bit like me
cafe67 Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 (edited) Pardon my ignorance but what sort of head shell does it take ? Edited October 28, 2013 by cafe67
Sam Z Posted October 28, 2013 Posted October 28, 2013 (edited) Great deck. Headshell = universal type, the original one is a very striking 14g solid aluminium one that looks like this: Edited October 28, 2013 by Sam Z
cafe67 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Thank you. While I gather from a quick net search, this is a awesome deck, what would it be like to own from a reliability POV and sound quality POV.
unclemack Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Thank you. While I gather from a quick net search, this is a awesome deck, what would it be like to own from a reliability POV and sound quality POV. I think you would be hard pressed to get something that performs better, looks better and has such pride of ownership value for anywhere near the money... Put a great cart and Phono stage to it and it becomes a thing of wonder... Cheers M
a.dent Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I wish you'd had this up for sale before I imported my GT2000 recently. For anyone looking for a bullet proof DD TT with amazing looks and sound quality, they won't go wrong with this table. GLWTS.
alistairm Posted October 30, 2013 Author Posted October 30, 2013 You've all convinced me to keep the beast (in conjunction with the direct drive discussion in the VPI thread). Withdrawn from sale.
