Hi Guy's, I have a Rotel RMB 1095 ( 5x 200w ) Amp.It has both RCA and XLR inputs, Im currently using the RCA inputs only and wanted to know if I could use the XLR inputs also,

but not simultaneously , Im assuming using both inputs at the same time could be an issue.

Thanks Paul.

This is a bad idea. You should only connect one set of inputs at a time. According to the schematic I have in front of me, the 1095 uses either XLR or RTS 6.5mm plugs. There are no RCA connectors shown on the diagram. It is possible yours is a variant which does use RCA connectors. Is there a small switch near the connectors? I've seen that on some Rotels. If so, then it should be safe to leave both connections to the input of the amp. If there is no switch, don't do it.

Morning, It does have RCA inputs, but according to the Manual there should be a switch used for switching between the 2 but there isn't ?? ( I also another Rotel 2ch amp with both RCA/XLR which does have a switch" RB 991").

The RMB 1095 also has a DB 25 connector, and 12v Trigger, so in short ( no pun intended) there is no change over switch so I should only use 1 type of input ?

Thanks for your reply.

You are right there is a switch for RCA/Balance. So there is an Option if you want to Experience on these Connection if there is Different between them, but i think only different between RCA & XLR if you are using a source like (CD/DAT....) that has a XLR Analog output into Pre/Pro & I don't think there is much different if you are connect from Pre/Pro into Power Amp. Especially If you have the same Model of the Cable & they are have 2 type RCA & XLR.IMO
