Hey guys looking to get one and am a little confused

i see a i9505 and an i9500

as far as i can tell the main difference is the i9500 has 4g and i9505 doesnt, but the 505 is more expensive

anyone know of any other differences between them...

so confusing with all the different processors they are using also

i9505 is designed for Australia and the other isn't. I think the i9500 is the international version.

other than that they're identical

looking at the specs seems they run different processors also

i9505 = Quad-core 1.9 GHz Krait 300 CPU, Adreno 320 GPU; Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset

i9500 = Octa-Core Exynos 5410 (Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7)

but yea, seems the 19505 is for our market and reading some threads, seems to be the better of the 2, yet its cheaper...go figure

I own the i9505 and I bought it over the i9500. Keep in mind that i9505 has been tested to work on the Australian network and the specific 4G networks.

I work for a major Telco.

If you travel overseas, you might want to check if the Samsung is region locked. Apparently the new Note is, so you can't use a SIM from an overseas telco if you purchased the Note in a particular country.

Notably older handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, Galaxy S2, Galaxy Note 2, and Galaxy S4 Mini, manufactured after the end of July 2013 have the region lock implemented. Galaxy S4 handsets with region lock have reportedly been spotted in Latin America and Europe.

thanks for that tip, something to definately look into then, but i dont do a huge amount of overseas travel.

Kogan seem to be the cheapest i can find also at $549 outright

I bought my s4 (9505) on eBay for 550. While I note that they have gone cheaper on eBay you would have to be persistent/lucky to get one at a lower price. Kogan 550 is thus a reasonable price. Have you looked on www.staticice.com.au for a price comparison?

yea, i looked on static ice and 2 places had it cheaper both operating out of HK

only $20 cheaper, so kogan with free shipping may well be the goer.
