Getting in early, as the self-appointed Social Co-coordinator for SNA [VIC] :) (Other states, please feel free to nominate and elect a similar representative for your states!)

I think our state is extremely pro-active and has a great member base, and this year could be a great time to start an inaugural SNA Christmas Party / Dinner.

Of course, interstate members would also be most welcome if they were willing to travel.

Very early in December, what about if we were to organise a dinner at a restaurant somewhere in Melbourne? Do we have any contacts for suitable facilities that could accommodate a large group (I estimate 30-40 people)?

Gasolina at South Wharf would be one suggestion.

Who would be keen?

I am interested - but, sorry, not in Docklands. :(

I'm sure there are places in the cbd which have room for 30-40 ... one place that I think has a place upstairs which should be able to fit that number is Terra Rossa (Flinders Lane between Exhibition & Russell).

Sounds interesting, we had one at Joz's restaurant a few years ago.

Too awkward to get to (for us in the CBD).

Yes, it is a bit out of the way for me as well, but a walk in the rain always invigorates - as it did the last two times we dined at South Warf!

I'll go, anything in Stkilda worth going too?

Stokehouse or Donavans perhaps?

Great views :love

I also would like to join if time permits.

The St. Kilda restaurants joz mentioned are very nice but might be too expensive for some of us. I also like Chinese food but prefer something more central than Doncaster East. There are some spacious Chinese restaurants in the city (e.g. Shark Fin Inn, 50 Little Burke). Alternatively, there is an Austrian/German restaurant in Carlton (Mutti's, 118 Elgin St), which is very spacious, has very good food and good beer (Koestritzer black beer, my favourite beer). Carlton is pretty central too.

Theres Taipan Chinese Restaurant in Doncaster East.

Plenty of space, easy free parking.

The owner is an audiophile.

Sounds good, but somewhere central, and accessible from public transport would be good

Am I missing something here? There are trams that go to Docklands (Harbourtown and North Quay) and South Wharf (200 metre walk from Clarendon St past Jeff's Shed). How is that awkward?
