Administrator StereoNET Posted October 24, 2013 Administrator Posted October 24, 2013 Just following on from the enjoyment of the Audio Show and so many SNA members catching up I thought it would be good to keep the momentum going. I know Geoff at Tivoli has mentioned a couple of times that he would like to follow up with another event - note, as this stage I have not yet spoken to Geoff regarding dates. My question, what night of the week in particular best suits most? I know we will get a multitude of responses, but we can go with the majority choice on this. Secondly, and I am just putting this out there, there was quite a catering cost last time (Tivoli and SNA shared this cost). What about if we were to offer raffle tickets on the night (I am volunteering myself to walk around and sell these, as it will give me the chance (force me) to introduce myself to all of you!), for a selection of items to be drawn on the night. The proceeds will 100% be put towards offsetting the catering costs. Would you chip in and purchase a few tickets? I think if all attendees spent half what they would have spent on dinner that night for a few tickets it should work quite well. Finally, for those that attended the first one, we did receive quite a lot of feedback, good and bad. I know I speak for Tivoli that we want to make these nights as enjoyable as possible, so what suggestions can you make to improve the quality of the night for all? More analog demonstrations, more digital / streaming, a combination of both, just Hi-Fi, or Home Cinema as well? Any feedback is most welcome.Once we have enough responses to this thread, I will approach Geoff at Tivoli to organise.
ENIGMA Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 (edited) Sounds good, I would buy tickets and tell them to bring back the snails! I'm not referring to the slippery little suckers you serve on a plate in French restaurants. Edited October 24, 2013 by ENIGMA 2
Guest yamaha_man Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 I'm keen, screw the snails, get XLF's there.
ENIGMA Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 I'm keen, screw the snails, get XLF's there. Plenty of space to have either in their own rooms.
samman Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 I'm in, Friday for me....Hifi and Cinema, raffle tickets to cover costs is a good idea.
Super Mustud Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Oh and name tags this time! I'm going to be 2sheds and Moondog.
Steam Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 (edited) A weekday would be my preference Raffle is fine although would be happy to just buy a ticket to the event if it feeds me. This would also help you as it gives a good idea of numbers and a $ figure before the event to work with. EDIT: also 2 channel for me. Edited October 25, 2013 by Dr Nick
Volunteer sir sanders zingmore Posted October 24, 2013 Volunteer Posted October 24, 2013 Weekdays better for me. Happy to buy a ticket/ contribute to catering costs
Lansche plasma guy Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 I think tickets and a rafle is a great idea. Weeknight is best for me. I think for many people weekends are taken up with prior commitments. I really enjoyed the sound of the JM Lab Scala Utopias i heard there last time. Thank you for organising the possible GTG. LPG
buddyev Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 I'm in and happy to contribute. 2 channel particularly Russ
jimsan Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Oh and name tags this time! We'll have to make sure Geoff gives some sort of speech. I know how much he loves them! 1
Gee Emm Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 I'm in Weeknights are good, as are raffle tickets. Love a chook raffle. I can't imagine what "bad" feedback you got from the last one. How do you complain about something you got for free? Oh, hang on a minute. I just realised something... Graham
Gee Emm Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Oh and name tags this time! Evil c already has this covered.

ZEN MISTER Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 The last event was a pleasure. The raffle and name tags is a good idea. Any night suits me. ZM.
caddisgeek Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 I'd be up for that if I'm in South Moriac, end of the week or weekend suits me better, raffle tickets great idea
Demondes Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Any night is good for me. Yep name Tags would be a good idea, and covering costs through a raffle is great. In case none of us buy anything We could even have a special room for those who didn't buy any raffle tickets. It would be full of AM tranny radios and those old style earpieces that people would listen to the horse races on. The cheapskates or Tightarse room. 1
Phantom Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 The cheapskates or Tightarse room. Yep. Good idea, I think there mmay be a few around these parts who qualify for those titles. It's a shame I cannot go but I hope y'all have a hoot
Kaynin Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 We could even have a special room for those who didn't buy any raffle tickets. I'd be in, any week night is good, 2 channel and AV would be awesome.
Saxon Hall Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 Personally I would prefer Friday night however I would attend whatever night it was. Last time the wine and nibbles were excellent so raffle tickets or a small cover charge to cover the cost would be fine for me
