Guest fordgtlover Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 (edited) So, Tina Arena has a new album called 'Reset'. On first listen the songs seem pretty good as nice easy listening tunes. But, they all sound flat and completely lacking in dynamics. Compared to her reference albums Don't Ask and In Deep from the mid 1990's, this album is flat, dull and lifeless - a huge production disappointment Maybe we could start a partition "Tina please release ask the production company or studio to not f#ck up the sound of your album. Signed, Fans'' Presumably the album will sound great on the teenagers' MP3 player. Oh, yes, Tina doesn't have teenage fans. She has middle aged fans who hate mixed for MP3 music. To say I am disappointed in the production quality of this album is a huge understatement. Anyone else heard the album yet? Thoughts? Edited October 24, 2013 by fordgtlover
ENIGMA Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 I heard it as my wife was curious because she went to school with Tina. In fact when we first started to go out went and saw Tina at gigs. Anyway, the album was better than I thought it would be but it did sound bland. After a while the songs started to sound the same.
Addicted to music Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Oh... I had High expectations, TA has always had well recorded albums including her Love and Loss 2. Thanks for the heads up, bloody disappointed!
Guest fordgtlover Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 I listened to the new album again last night with headphones, and yes, I'm still annoyed at how flat it sounds, but I do like most of the songs. The one saving grace seems to be that when while listening to the album on speakers this morning, the flat and compressed presentation isn't quite as obvious and annoying. The album contains a few songs that have a real shot at commercial success.
