I just asked Chat GPT to write me a blurb, here's what it came up with...

Hey music lovers, listen up! Are you a fan of kicking back and enjoying some sweet tunes on some high-quality equipment? Well, do we have the group for you! The Hi-Fi and Music Appreciation Group is where it's at, baby!

Come join us for some awesome fellowship and groovy tunes. We welcome anyone who loves music, from the curious cats to the die-hard fanatics. We'll be getting together regularly to listen to different types of music and use all sorts of fancy and not-so-fancy equipment that members bring along for the night. And if you're feeling handy, you can even use our facilities to build, restore or repair your own speakers or electronics. It's all about having a blast and enjoying the many different types of satisfaction that come from this wicked hobby.

We're open to everyone, including all current members of the shed and non-members. You can come check us out as a non-member for up to three meetings, but after that, we'll expect you to join the group if you want to keep on rocking with us.

And guess what? We're even providing snacks! All you need to do is grab a ticket for $20 each to secure your spot.

But hold on to your hats, folks, because this meeting is going to be extra special. We've got a set of seriously high-end gear for you to try out, including some fancy-pants ATC SCM100ASLT LE Anniversary Speakers with P6 Amp Packs, a McIntosh CD Transport with a Separate Matching DAC, a Bryston Pre Amp, a Mytek Brooklyn Bridge Streamer, and a REGA P9 Turntable with an Ortofon 3000 MC Cartridge. All of this amazing equipment adds up to a whopping $78K rrp!

We've got two exciting plans for the evening. First, bring along your favourite CD or LP, and we'll play it on this setup. And if you're feeling adventurous, make a request via the streamer. Secondly, we'll put the same song on the streamer, LP, and CD, and switch between them to see if you can tell the difference and what you prefer. We might even take a vote!

If you want to know more, get in touch with Jason van Straalen at 0479088848. But don't wait too long to grab your ticket, because we're going to have a blast!

I wish the organisers the very best success in kicking this off - a fantastic idea.

Could be the start of a fun, supportive and really beneficial group for enthusiasts in the region. 👍

If it takes off, more than happy to give it its own sub-forum under our 'Audio Club's section for news and updates etc.

Hey party people!

I've got some great news for all of you who love to BYO. We've added a Free BYO ticket option for our upcoming event, so you can bring your own drinks and snacks and still join in on the fun.

But don't forget to grab your ticket soon, because space is limited and we need to keep track of everyone for insurance purposes. Plus, you won't want to miss out on all the excitement we have planned!

We can't wait to see all your happy faces at the event. So come on down and let's make some unforgettable memories together!

Cheers, Jason

Here's a nice write-up about the meeting on Friday and more importantly Billy Woodman, the Aussie from SA whose life's work was ATC.

The legacy of the late Billy Woodman, the founder of ATC, lives on through his innovative designs that have transformed the professional sound industry. From the groundbreaking SM 75-150s soft dome midrange driver to the latest version of the SM 75-150s that represents the apex of drive unit technology, Billy Woodman's signature sound will be on display at the Showgrounds Men's Shed this Friday from 4:30 to 7:30 pm.

Billy Woodman's dedication to precision and performance led to the development of complete speaker systems, active system elements, and smaller ATC speakers that ranged from SCM7s through 10s and 20s. His commitment to sound quality also led to the launch of ATC's first stand-alone audiophile electronics, including the SCA2 pre-amplifier, SPA2-150 power amplifier, and later the SIA2-150, all built according to ATC's no-compromise philosophy.

In 1996, Billy Woodman and his research team developed an innovative new driver topology designed to eliminate the effects of magnetic hysteresis as a significant source of distortion in loudspeaker drive units. This led to the introduction of the Super Linear (SL) driver, which reduced third harmonic distortion by 10-15dB between 100Hz and 3kHz, and remains one of the most significant developments in transducer design to this day.

Billy Woodman's commitment to multi-channel mastering and direct involvement with leading players in the professional audio industry has ensured that ATC's products are installed at some of the world's most prestigious multi-channel studios and auditoria. Today, wherever the best is required, you will find ATC, and the signature sound of Billy Woodman's life's work and legacy lives on. So don't miss out on the opportunity to experience it for yourself this Friday at the Showgrounds Men's Shed from 4:30 to 7:30 pm.

I think the first event was very successful about 12-15 WA audio fans enjoyed some good tunes some beers and listened to some great components. This will only get bigger and better as word spreads and next date to be confirmed but probably early May. I will leave Jason to announce that date. Thanks guys great first night. Cheers Adam

Hi @Marc,

Please can you add us into the Audio Clubs section?

If so, maybe we should just put Perth Audio Club to keep it simple. Showgrounds Men's Shed Audio Appreciation Group is probably too long.

Kind regards,

Jason
