Gordon

Thanks "I know nothing"

It's adifferent belt?

Yee gods and little fishes I'm playing into Caddisgeeks hands here

Make sure to get another belt as per Linn's 'suggestion', David, if you plan to play 45's often.

For best sound does he have to self-flagellate with the 33 belt while swapping over?

What will it take for him to beg return of that Technics?

How did I do that?

Bloody hell if those (other) trolls find this I'm rooted

Not entirely necessary but desirable in djb's case. He should be punished and often, even if it is self-administered.

I think he does it with a newly-purchased speed-change device - not a different pulley, Gordon.

I thought David was using the adaptor I gave Flemo ?

David , the extra belt is used so that the normal(33rpm) belt doesn't get stretched. Both belts are the same size etc.

Thank you for your clear reasoned articulate generous approach Gordon and Flemo

I can't say the same for all who've posted here

Gordon now I see yhe adaptor it makes sense re second belt

Adaptor will stretch belt too far

Now I take off platter ?

Just go do it David!

AHH very clever device WORKS

Picked up Spandau Ballet "Instinction" last week thinking it was an LP as you /I do

Gordon will only play a few and get second belt next week

Aah, sorry Gordon,

David - haven't you received your 33/45 speed controller thingy yet?

BTW - that's the "only way to fly" IMO.  Absof'inglutely no way am I going to change the pulley on the motor, to change from 33rpm to 45rpm.  That's 70s technology! ;)

Confused!? Djb shrinks into his natural state of shyness

1 Flemo very kindly gave me an adaptor that had been gifted to him I now think by Gordon

I hope it didn't really belong in TelecineAndyr horde!

It slips over the motor "capstan" takes 60 secs to fit

Is this the 70s technology of which Andy speaks?

OR is he suggesting, like the Linnie he really is, and like tele who aspires to "family" membership- that I need a Hercule Moses power supply at $450 to do the same thingy?

OR is there yet another alternative?

There's always another alternative

Watch for Caddisgeek (did you know it's the water bug he studied for his PHD?) who will tell me to get rid of the TT even though he likes it!

OHH dear I was keeping so professional on this thread but I begin to digress ....
