Guest Multidimension Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 (edited) Item: Sony SACD Player Location: Cheltenham NSWPrice: $999 NegotiableItem Condition: 9.8/10Reason for selling: No longer used. See Below.Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, DepositExtra Info: OK the big guns are coming out! This ridiculous super high-end SACD player TANK might as well be new. The only criticism I can conjure up is that I found some dust on the remote! The player lived under a towel! Yes - it's my brother's. It's about 10 years old but has had very little use and is no longer needed since all the SACDs are now on the HDDs as 176/24 FLACs. Don’t ask me how we achieved that but let's just say it happened and the Berkeley Alpha USB does a fine job with them. It would suit a super-critical headphone listener as it has that rare little plug hole feature with volume control on the front panel. I've had it set up here for a while. It plays perfectly and has an incredibly smooth and quiet drawer! But I don't really need it since I've gone to streaming and all the CDs are in boxes. Everything is there - even the original cables and manuals. Original box too. Sorry but local pick-up only. It is about twice as heavy as the model that superseded it (which looks the same but I can’t remember it's model number - I think it had 5s in it). If you have a courier account and they'll collect from my door that's OK. I will also donate 2% of the final price to match what I would have to pay elsewhere. Any questions welcome, but please don’t ask me about shipping. Collect only from Cheltenham which is between Epping and Beecroft. Send a friend! Edited October 22, 2013 by Multidimension

betty boop Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Wow bargain ! Ive got one in champagne and wouldn't be able to sell it. One like for sale here would be very rare to buy locally. Even new these we're rare and cost a ridiculous amount with rrp of $5999 ! Of course was half the price in the us ! Good review from strreophile http://www.stereophile.com/hirezplayers/1203sony And white paper from sony on this player http://www.hifishock.org/galleries/Documents/Sony_ES_Sacd_Player_SCD-XA9000ES_Technology.pdf I have the 5400es later released as well, while adds hdmi sonically over analog I don't think a patch on the 9000
