Guest Multidimension Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 (edited) SOLD Item: ARC Audio Research Line Stage Amplifier LS7 Location: Cheltenham NSWPrice: $800 Negotiable.Item Condition: 9/10Reason for selling: No longer used. See Below.Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD OnlyExtra Info: This is my brother's old LS7 stereo preamp which he purchased new in Sydney. It is in as-new condition cosmetically and works flawlessly. Is has never needed any repairs and sounds fine. It has NOS Mullard valves (real UK valves) with little use as well as the originals which test fine. He kept the original dual box packaging in which the unit can be shipped although pick-up is preferred by me. Original owner's manual is included. Reason for sale is that he has moved to an actively crossed tri-amplified system with a DEQX processor, so this two-channel preamp is longer required. I will also donate 2% of the final price to match what I would have to pay elsewhere. Any questions welcome. Edited October 23, 2013 by Multidimension
RockandorRoll Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 could possibly chase Twwen2 for this. I just sold my VT50 to him and he might need a nice pre amp to match i waited ages for one of these to pop up. Sold the ARC last week dammit!
twwen2 Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 I'd be keen for an ARC preamp, but I need one with remote volume control; that's absolutely non-negotiable. HT bypass is also required, which unfortunately restricts my options significantly.
rx7rotary Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 If I didnt have one already I would buy it Great Line stage!
Guest Multidimension Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Deposit taken from a friendly guy. He should love it. He also took the D200. Will update to "sold" after balance received.
robin-hobart Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 (edited) Great preamp, excellent value! Edited October 22, 2013 by robin-hobart
tesla13BMW Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Can anyone comment how the LS7 would compare to the LS2?
rx7rotary Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Can anyone comment how the LS7 would compare to the LS2? Depends which LS2 there are about 4 versions of this preamp. I had an LS2B and in my system I preferred the sound of ls7.
colinm1 Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 the 7 and 3 came out about the same time ,the 3 sounded more like a 2, (can be a little dry) where the 7 had a more valve sound ,a bit softer, but still VERY nice I thing they were about $3000/3500 ish new,
Guest Multidimension Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 SOLD 2% donation made to site hosts as promised. It certainly beats Audiobong where I received nothing but daily abuse from some writer for The Absolute Nerve (Comic Book) on negotiable pricing until I decided to ignore him. Here it's friendly.
Micks Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Just a quick note - Multi dimension was a pleasure to deal with...an absolute gentleman. Everything was exactly as described and he was very flexible with pickup etc.
