Hate to tell you but if someone has one I very much doubt they'll sell it.

Spose that points to the units obviously improving SBT performance. Not such a bad thing.

If someone's SBT dies and they decide not to replace it, then perhaps I'll get lucky. Guess I'll need to wait a bit and see.

Thanks.

I have the Teddy Pardo, can't ever see myself replacing it for the price.

Bang for buck, nothing comes close IMO.

Just bite the bullet and get one, you won't be disappointed.

G'day. Yes it did (took a couple of weeks, as I figured). It won't be going back.

It was a bit harsh at first but even out of the box the improvements outweighed any negatives and, of course, I expected further improvements as it bedded in. These came in (in spades) the next day and day after. From there it was a no-brainer.

I made scribbles the first three or so times I listened to it. Just simple words to describe my impressions during familiar music. I will type and post them, soon. I was hoping to put the stock switching PSU back for a final check to ensure I wasn't imagining things before honouring my pledge to Mr Happy Pants, but haven't had time.

I'm using it to an external DAC via coaxial, BTW.

Thanks to the Bearded Yamaha Man for the advice. I second it.

Cheers,Thistle.

Great to hear - I presume this is the SB3?

Did you purchase direct?

TP PSU notes

No burn-in.

Good:

More bass

Better separation

Increased ‘musicality’

Bad:

Harsh. Too much treble.

An hour in.

Stronger presentation (more forward)

Increased engagement

Two hours in

Tighter, more locked down.

Treble issue persisting

Day 2

Dynamics!

More string detail

Smoother, more balanced

More relaxed

More resolution in lyrics

Better dialogue articulation

More involving

Energetic

Bad: ‘tinnier’. Veiled.

Five days later

More cohesive

Less exaggerated, less to prove

Articulation

Room disappears. Hear into the music.

Dialogue intelligence

Effortless.

I’m using the digital coaxial output to an external DAC.

I was going to put the stock PSU back for a comparo, but since being impressed by the latest improvement to my system I've fallen into speaker positioning nightmares and no longer have an exact reference. I'll give it a go once I'm happy with my speakers again.
