Wow very tidy system (and no doubt sounding system)appeals to my ocd - Out of interest what racks are you using?

Yep Solid Steel. Very solid construction and excellent acoustically. I have the three leg version - so no issues with stability. But you need to be careful if you lean on the back corner as it can tip.

Arcade Fire Reflektor from my daughter. She has no idea who they are, but thinks Primal Scream Screamadelica sounds too heavy, even though she has never heard them.
plus a stack of vinyl from @Be Quiet...Listen ordered on Chrissy day.

Unfortunately I did not get to unwrap a NAD C3050LE for Xmas as they are having freight issues. Looks like late January before the fun starts.

Not sure I will be getting any music related goodies this year. House reno was supposed to deliver the main bathroom, toilet and en suite by Christmas. Yeah, right...

But still, the tiling was done by Wednesday so I got the plumber in to provide the luxury of one working karsi in the main part of the house. For the last 6 weeks, the standard M.O. has been a 3am half-drunk stumble downstairs and through through the gym to the only working toilet/shower in the house. I fitted new door furniture, planed the bottom of the door and installed it yesterday, but it still needs a couple of cleans, then electricals and some accessories (toilet roll holder, blind, etc), but it represents progress.

I can't believe how happy this has made Mrs Tel 🤣

Thanks, Santa!

What an awesome stereo experience it'd be putting in wall speakers in that bathroom 😅

From a cousin ( I am purchasing these so technically from myself)

Perfect size now for my viewing distance.

Today, the big, fat, red suited guy bought me a belated pressie onto which I will be copying / recording all my digital music files.

This 10 TB bad boy comes with a 5 year warranty / 8760 power on hours per year / 2.5 million hours MTBF / extremely fast access and write times / extremely durable / was not cheap as the fat guy made me pay for it. (mongrel!)

For my needs, an SSD drive of this size would eat up most of my super so it was eliminated from the process until prices come down a lot. Having lost a 2TB music drive a year ago, I'm updating as many drives as I can but this workhorse will be the main drive.

A SMSL SA300 Digital Amp for my desktop / office system.

For such a small amp, it is rather good.

Nothing to do with the Coca-Cola man, but these are 2 of my 3 new brushes for dusting the system.  The small one is by Chanel.  (Had to get that in.)

Actually bought one from Kmart with soft bristles. Great for cleaning the turntable and other analogue equipment like film cameras

Santa's a little late due to supply chain problems. This will be used extensively on my latest speaker build project:

Never thought I'd spend £3k on an air compressor, but @ 69dB(A) vs the 95dB(A) of my current piston compressors and less than 3ppm of oil in the discharge air vs the ridiculous amount of oil spew I currently see , it was a no-brainer.  With an air-end lifespan of >100,000 hours, the Mrs. will realise its ultra-low depreciation second hand value when the Grim Reaper finally comes to collect my soul......

Tweeter goes in the top tube.  The woofer in the bottom tube.  Can't imagine what a pair of these would look like in a lounge room.

Where can we see your previous speakers?

2 way standmount. Scan-Speak 18w/8531G00 revelator mid-bass and D3004/660000 AirCirc Illuminator tweeter.

It's John Krutke's Zaph Audio ZRT  The box is a fairly simple one - 18mm Baltic birch, double thickness on the baffle, damped with Dodo Mat on the internals of the panels, with egg-crate foam and a bit of Monacor MDM-3. Neutrik Speakon connectors.

The sealed box suits the 18W very well in our 23m2 room. I used it in a bottom-ported floor stander a few years ago and the bass was overpowering.

Great imaging and detail and a listen-all-day sound.

This is not a photo of my new JH Audio Sharona custom in ears. It's a computer generation of the ones I ordered.

My ear impressions have been stuck in US Customs for over a month now, so I'm guessing these will eventually be delivered by the Easter Bunny :(

So pleased the old plump bloke in the sleigh with the reindeers did a u-turn before heading North and dropped off the other book in the series, apparently he heard I liked the last one! 😉

Thankfully, after no Brinkmann TT included in Revolution, there is a Brinkmann page in HiFi!

Happy New Year,
