He seems to be quite prolific these days, I just bought compilation with extra CD of live tracks from Sydney 08 (didn't even know he had been here) and DVD of video clips and live tracks.

yes, very prolific.  hard for even me to keep up. :D

His 2008 concert at the Metro in Sydney was unbelievable. :thumb:     Some rich fan brought him out with little or no advertising and he played in Melb, Sydney and Brissy from memory.  There were quite a few guys that went to all 3 concerts.   Even Tom Ellard aka Severed Heads was at the concert as a paying fan.

John Foxx was a really nice English gentleman, signing CD's etc after the concert and willing to have a chat.

Don't think he went to WA.

Wow severed heads blast from the past, remember seeing them, single gun theory and box car live at the old Melbourne as part of the techno-pop tour

Have you picked up the vinyl reissue of Metamatic?     Superb sounding reissue and nicely packaged - was released for RSD.

I just received the black vinyl version of Metamatic.

same mastering, same pressing plant, same everything except for the colour of the vinyl.

Black vinyl sounds better imo.  Subtle but clear in my mind.  the black vinyl is a little quieter in the groove, the top end is a little more spacious with better depth and finally the coloured vinyl is a little congested in the upper bass giving it an every so slightly fatter sound, but less transparency.

The white vinyl sounds great, the black vinyl just a bit better :thumb:

the white RSD gatefold is magnificent, however the grey of the current black pressing covers is closer to the original UK pressing grey.

Very happy!!

Couple of new John foxx releases for me.

Both are ambient albums so if you are familiar with his drift music and cathedral oceans albums you will no what to expect.

London over grown is probably the closest to these and fans of early Harold budd albums ( serpent in quicksilver,, abandoned cities will also approve )

Codex is foxx and Benge and Diana Yukawa)violin player , I was perhaps expecting this album to be more organic if you like , but rather than hearing the violin its more a case of hearing a treated violin. Still good but perhaps more mournful than London overgrown.

John Foxx - Crash and Burn.   Sounds awesome on vinyl with John's voice being ripped apart by the vocoder in sync wirh the almost industrial  electronica.

Hanging to see, listen to and hopefully meet John Foxx next week

John Foxx @ his introspective discussion about his career @ Mona Hobart - 29/7/2016

A small slice of heaven for me and got to chat to him after.
