I watched this. It's very interesting and at about the 1:30 mark Bernie talks about AES and the potential issues.

Yes, wires hehe.

I found that very informative and fun after the MOFI debacle.  I think Bernie Grundman is entitled to state he is an audiophile and be a bit choosy, but understands others have different requirements etc.

Interesting Chad’s defence of Michael Fremer and also Michael 45’s half hearted plea for free records.

I have been enjoying the new Rufus Dul Sol and Cure albums - both have been cut for vinyl by Burnie Grundman and both sound amazing for different reasons.

I looked him up and he turns 81 tomorrow.

What an absolute legend in mastering and vinyl mastering especially - He has mastered and cut the vinyl for so many classic albums that one can't list them all.

He definitely has the midas touch, even at his sprightly age of 81.

Aah, Shane ... yes, BG is a master mastering engineer - but 'sprightly' and '81' in the same sentence ... is an oxymoron!

(especially of an old person) lively; full of energy.

"he was quite sprightly for his age"

An oxymoron is a figure of speech that combines two contradictory words with opposing meanings, like "old news," "deafening silence," or "organized chaos." Oxymorons may seem illogical at first, but in context they usually make sense.
