My advice to you is not to assume.

Forum language is very difficult to "read".

My apologies to you, as I too thought your post hinted at the behavior Metal Beat "questioned". So you should also note that MB used a "?".

We look forward to a good outcome for the son and your good intentions.

Kind Regards

B

I assumed nothing. I just went on what you wrote.

Hence the question mark hoping you will do the right thing.

Back from seeing the son and decided to ''do the right thing''.

I told him what those cartridges are worth and sell them on the open market.

He was very thankful for honest advice.

Cheers.

I have the same cart and its sublime. The downside is that when the time comes to replace it, if Im after the same flavour, its going to have to be a Koetsu!! 💰💰💰

I think your best bet would be a Rosewood or Rosewood Signature, or even the entry model Black. Even a long body wood if in good condition will or should satisfy you and give you improvement over the Supex 900. I still have my 900. I think Koetsu's from the 70's and 80's will have a warmer sound than later ones, from my experience.

Spend few hours A&B tested  vintage MFSL 200 grams 33 speed and Ultradisc One step MFSL 45 speed….. I voted Vintage MFSL 200 gram 33 speed sound better than One step MFSL 45 speed.

Interesting feedback thanks. I've never done this comparison (don't have any One Steps)

Nice Lyrita/Malcolm Arnold LP you have. Nice recording 😊

@Fidelity Sounds Something funny about a photo of a cartridge from a manufacturer that you’ve decidedly dedicated this whole thread to?

Mine topic, my thread .... I am using Koetsu cartridge  to compare, feedback to share. Anything wrong from here ?

Apparently the Japanese government put a stop to Coralstone mining/excavation.

They should bring out a whale skin and baby seal Koetsu. 9_9

Japanese govt has no issue with them slaughtering them 🤔

Does the newer Koestu still have THE Koestu sound “ house” sound - I’ve seen a few mentions of “ rich, warm and woolly) as describing the sound - but these comments also seem to be for early models.

I imagine the various models have their own sound ,  it is their an overall  sound ?
