Pete (pete_mac), Steve (the fez) and I have tossed around the idea of having a get together with the theme being Vintage Amplification up to the late 80'S - sources and speakers can be any vintage, but bonus points for vintage gear.

Well, now it's time to do something about it!!

The date - One Sunday in October - date to be confirmed (was planned to be the 13th, but I have realised that that is Bathurst)

The venue  - I have access to an historic (in keeping with the vintage theme) house located in Guildford and it will be ideal for such a get together, more about that later.

The time - thinking opening up at 10.30am, and finishing up at around 4.00pm.

The cost - $5.00 per head donation to help the raise funds for the upkeep of the property, and for those who will be needing lunch I was thinking of catering via Red Rooster or similar, probably $10 per head incl a drink.

Now the venue - as stated it is a historic house, and is situated on 12 acres of land, so no problems with a bit (or a lot) of music being played.... There are 3 rooms approx 9X5 metres, another couple of smaller rooms, a large room at the rear approx 14X9 metres, three verandas....etc There will be plenty of room to set up, and thick walls mean not too much interference between rooms, and plenty of off street parking.

The website is here http://www.holroyd.nsw.gov.au/linnwood/

The day would be open to any SNA members that would like to bring an item (or two or three) of 60's through 80's gear along, or who are interested in having a look at (and listen to) some fine examples vintage gear.

Please post up your interest, and you can also post in the poll.

If there is sufficient interest in this EOI then this will go ahead.

Questions, suggestions etc welcome!!

Cheers

John

What a great idea! Definitely interested as long as it's not Grand Final Sunday!

Happy to bring some vintage gear as well:

JVC AX-9 amp

Sony PS-8750 TT

Yep lets get a date locked in. I only have a Yamaha CA 610 but it sounds good. Fez do we need to hire a truck for your stuff?

  Nuthin wrong with the Yammy 610...I really don't have much stuff. However you will need a B-Double for Skippy's gear...

I'd love to be there :)  but I don't like driving to cities, I'll fly and I'll taxi about but I wont drive into/down to them.

If I did come then I'd bring my truck and Bobcat to lift and load all Skippy's gears (Wonders if his 10 tonne truck is enuff for skip's stuff...)

G'day Luc I'd be happy to pick you up and drop you back at the airport.

I like the idea and voted yes.

Could we bring non vintage item? when all the vintage items have been tried, if still time, next.

It's not just an audio event, we can turn it into a social one, that is if any big boss is interested to join too. If John supports this idea, you can add a button for partner.
