Super Mustud Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Had been looking forward to having a good barbequed chicken fish in KL. It had been a few years since I last tried this rather strange fish. Asked around over the last few days and was advised by an expat who has been in and around Malaysia for 32 years that the best place was in Jalan Alor. One particular restaurant, not any of the others. I was a bit leery to go in to Jalan Alor with the crowds but it was quite fine, and the key point was, THE FISH WAS MAGNIFICENT. Big recommendation, if in KL do take the time to try it. The street café section of Jalan Alor.
Catostylus Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I thought chicken was a vegetable. Idiot. It's a fruit.
Super Mustud Posted August 4, 2013 Author Posted August 4, 2013 It is strange to see that fish swimming with all its feathers. So far from Fukushima as well.
Super Mustud Posted August 4, 2013 Author Posted August 4, 2013 Does it go well with a bong? I had it with bok choy and rice. And Tiger. You see the feathers then.
emesbee Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 It is strange to see that fish swimming with all its feathers. So far from Fukushima as well. It could be an evolutionary phase.
Super Mustud Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 An update. During my farewell do in Kl the other night I was told that I was a goose when it comes to chicken fish. Apparently, and despite all the instructions given to me, I had gone to the wrong chicken fish place. Next time in KL I will go to the right place with a few others. In terms of etiquette, what do you guys think? Should I expect them to pay for the lot or should I offer to at least pay for the bottled water?
Super Mustud Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 You drink water???? The women do. I would not offer to pay for it is everyone did. One must be sensible.
Catostylus Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 One must be sensible. It's good to see you taking up a new hobby.
