Monk Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 So with my latest Christmas in July purchase arriving today, Au-719, yay! I thought I should really ask about this before just plugging it in and hoping for the best before turning it on... It's from Italy who operate on 220V apparently, and it has a 220V sticker on the back as well (which admittedly mightn't mean much), do I need to change the voltage switch (err... jumper?) to 240V? I seem to see 110-120 and 220-240 mentioned in regards to voltage, but I'm not sure whether that means there's 2 or 4 options to set? Also seeing as how I know bugger all about electronics, are there any precautions to take when doing this? I'm at work at the moment so can't take the top off the amp as my swiss army knife isn't beefy enough for it and I can't remember if the service manual that I downloaded mentions this either (not that I can make much out of that anyway as it only seems to be a bad photocopy), but I figured someone would know about this off the top of their head.
skippy124 Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Hi, Congrats on Christmas in July present, you must have been a good boy!!! The mains input voltage selection is accessed by removing the bottom panel, you will see a black rectangular plug with an arrow on it , and the 4 voltages are marked. Just pull the plug and refit it with the arrow pointing at 240V. There is a bottom view here..... 4th picture http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showpost.php?p=5595146&postcount=72 If you want a PDF of the owners manual shoot me a PM with your email address. Cheers John
Monk Posted July 29, 2013 Author Posted July 29, 2013 Woo hooo! It lives! My god it's good to have a stereo again. Thanks John, I obviously haven't looked around enough because that's the first time I've seen you get to that from underneath (and what it looks like for that matter). And strangely enough it was already set at 240, I would have thought it would have been at 220 for Italy. Anyways. I'm liking the loudness button already, especially for Meshuggah, haha. There's a bit of a hiss for some CDs which is a bit annoying, I guess I'll have to check connections and play around a bit now. P.S. I'm pretty sure Santa doesn't check his list to see if you've been naughty or nice for Christmas in July...
