metal beat Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I received the Royksopp , Late Night Tales 2LP set recently and then last week, Cinematic Orchestra's Late Night Tales compilation. This is how all vinyl releases should be released. 1. The pressings are superb, quiet with no faults whatsoever. 2. The LP's come in poly lined paper sleeves. These ensure your vinyl stays in pristine condition from when it is pressed to when it gets to you. No more paper sleeves that at best can ruin the look of the vinyl, at worst scratch the vinyl so it is audible. 3. The CD also comes with the vinyl. this is nice as you can play the album in the car or burn it to where ever. I really appreciate the vinyl releases that come with the CD, the latest Mark Lanegan and Lloyd Coles are just two examples. The major labels could look at this model to perhaps create some sense of ownership pride and loyalty to buying vinyl. Cheers 4
Get off My lawn Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I completely agree with you. Unfortunately this wont appeal to the "everything should be free on the internet" crowd, who'd rather steal a download! 1
