collector Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 I have spent some time searching, but have had no success. I'm searching for a Hi Fi component, that can play 24bit, minimum 96KHz wav or flac files which are on either a USB flash drive, or a memory card. I don't require the player to carry out any other function. All responses will be appreciated
Lil Caesar Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 (edited) The Bryston BDP 1 and 2 should be on your research list, mind you - these devices still require a DAC. Edited July 26, 2013 by Lil Caesar
Kaynin Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 (edited) Depends on your budget of course, but the Consonance Reference 7 will do that. Via USB it's 24Bit/192KHz. http://www.opera-consonance.com/products/digital/Reference7.htm Edited July 26, 2013 by Kaynin

ians Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 (edited) This: http://www.astellnkern.com/eng/htm/showroom/04_showroom_120.asp A portable player that supports up to 24bit 196kHz in the formats you mentioned. No facility for USB flash drive but it allows for two 64Gb microsd cards. It also has 64Gb internal memory. Expensive. It can also be used as a standalone DAC. Edited July 27, 2013 by ians
fetischizm Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 SD-TRANS, pricey though and you'll need to come up with a chassis or install it in your DAC. does DSD64-256, DXD/PCM to 384kHz. preferrable if you have an ES9018 dac to get all features. allows synchronous clocking etc.
dannyhc Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Use a Samsung Galaxy S4 with a OTG cable running USB Recorder Pro.
ericd Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Can you play direct from USB flash drive with the Cambridge Audio NP 30 or Stream Magic 6?

Red wine audio offers some mods for these too, including swapping the headphone out for a line out. http://redwineaudio.com/mods/rwak100
